I spank mine both ways...like if shes not in trouble but kinda in trouble i spank her standing up but if shes in big trouble i bend her over the knee...that way she knows its serious and we're not going to just let her keep doing it

I babysit alot and am around alot of children and very few parents openly spank their children. The few that I have seen only do it on extreme cases and usually standy. Its more like a swat as the walk by. The kids lift a few inches of the ground ( fly for a few seconds) then land look around and when they notice what happened they cry. I doesn't hurt them though. I've only ever seen an over the knee spanking once and it was very awful. The child and the parent looked ridiculous and I was embaressed for them both.

I'm 15 and well depending on the case is how i got my spankings, like most of the others said if it wasn't seriously like not moving fast enough my dad or mom would just swat me on the butt to get my attention and i would usually raise up for a few kinda like flying in the air and look back and start crying not because it hurt just because i got a spanking...if i had been told to clean my room before going out 3 or 4 times though and got caught then i would either have to bend over the knee or my dad would make me put my hands on the wall to were i couldn't put my hands on my butt and he hurt my hands cause of me trying to keep from getting swats. Be careful though cause i would hate for you to get in trouble with cps child protection services. an elderly couple called in on my older brother because my dad swatted him for screaming and yelling for a toy that he had already been told 4 or 5 time he couldn't have the police showed up and well they knew my parents so everything was OK and there was no marks... so yeah just watch your self and if your really angry dot spank them....by they way i turned out just fine and well i date hate my parents for giving me spanks because mainly they always explained to me afterwards why i got the spanking...and during but usually i was crying trying to get them to stop...

Spanking is not wrong people. The Bible says spare the rod and spoil the child. I was spanked plenty and I was not a bully or scared for life. Come on people. Kids are brats and unruly now a days and some of you are the cause.

People need to get the differernce of spanking and beatings.. Beatings is a big no no. Spankings as long as it is done as the last possible resort and is never done in anger is ok. I like for someone to tell me when I have kids, that I cant spank them, when they truely deserve it.

wouldnt know. i have 6 grown children and 9 grand children.i have never hit (you call spank) my children or my grand children. the only thing hitting a child shows him is that if you think some one is wrong then hit him or her. and then we wonder why there is so many bullies in our schools.if hitting (spanking) worked then you would only have to spank a child one time. hitting is nothing but lazy parenting on your part.

I'm sorry I really wouldn't know, I don't spank my 5yr old son. I discipline him, but no hitting! Maybe I will tug on his shirt when I'm upset or push him by his shoulders. But NOTHING that might hurt him in anyway or leave a mark! That is the last thing you should ever do!!!!

Hitting your children is not the answer. I was never hit as a child and neither of my children are hit. There are better ways to deal with punishment.

Spanking is over-rated. Like it's going to make your child grow up and become some kind of genius or something....please....
