Pregnancy & Parenting - 9 October 2006

My baby is 9 days old and I'm having a hard time with her emptying my breast causing severe engorgement. I have so much milk that she can only nurse on 1 breast at a time before she starts choking and throwing up. When she does nurse its anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes and I have to wake her up to eat. I try to feed her every 2-3 hours but because she gets to full sometimes she will go 6 or 7 hours without eating. We even had to take her to emergency over the weekend because it was taking her so long in between feeds. They said everything is perfect. What do I do if she is only taking 1 breast at a time and going almost 6 hours in between feeds? Please help. My boobs hurt.

My sitter fed my 11 month old peanut butter and she had an allergic reaction. I had a chart when my son was a baby that listed the food and at what age it was ok to introduce it. IE - Peanut butter, 2-3 years, eggs after 1 year, etc.

Does anyone know where I can get a chart like that?

Ps. My daughter is doing fine.

I had been on the pill for abt 10 years and came off last year to ttc ! My periods were always very light on the pill and since i have come off they are the same ( day 1 very heavy then day 2 med then very light day 3 spotting) is this normal ?

Okay, I was supposed to have started ovulating yesterday, but my temp and all taht is normal, I am not showing any signs of ovulating, except a few minor cramps. For the last 4 days I have been increadable sick at night and first thing in the morning and there are certain smells that make me sick to my sotmach. Is all of that because I am ovulating or was going to start ovulating or am I pregnant? I think it would be way too soon for a HPT to come back positive. My period was 2 1/2 weeks ago. my breast are a little sensitive, but not enough to make me worry,I am feeling really tiered all the time and not very hungry, i seem to be nauseated alot. Are those signs of pregnancy? Any help and or advice would be great!

I keep getting really sharp pains in my stomach (all over, not in just one spot). I've tried resting, but I keep getting this stabbing pain all over, and a mild lower back ache. This has been going on since 9:00 am and it is now 11:30 am...still getting pains. What could be the cause of this? Anyone else experience this? Thanks.

I am 18 and think i may be pregnant, when my dad died i began to get social securty and have saved a good chunk of money. I had a 3.0 gpa in high school and have not started college, i was going to use the money i have saved to take some classes in being a maturnity nurse i love kids i cant wait to have kids but im really worried that this might put a lot of weight on my goals and that i wont have enough money when its all said and done to go back to school. My boyfriend is 24 and we have been together over a year and have known each other for almost 4 years, were very much in love. i have no doubt he would make a great father but im scared to tell are parents, we both have good jobs he is a dental technitican and is going to become a dentist hopefully and i work full time as a secertary at a trucking company, i make ok money and will get a raise in a few weeks, i know i could be a great mom but im scared to, any advice? We are TTC baby number 2, and I have a good feeling, but just have to wait it out right now. Ovulation days were thurs, fri, sat. Anyways, my question is, how were your other pregnancies different from the first. Did you know sooner, feel things sooner, symptoms, ect. I kind of already asked this question, but I think I need to reword it here a bit. You see, my neighbor's cat likes us more than it's real owners. We can tell they don't feed him because he's always eating crickets and grass. He's always at our house and started going back to his real house every night but lately he doesn't even go home. I realize it would be illegal to just take him and keep him, but it's also illegal for my neighbors to neglect him and not feed him. What can I do?

I have a neighbor who's 3 year old has been caught doing things from hanging off their balcony on the second story of our 4plex apartment to throwing knives in the yard to running in the halls with no adult supervision for up to 45 minutes until one of us in the building gets sick of it and tell him to go back inside. His mom has openly told me and our neighbors that she takes medicine that makes her too tired to get out of bed and control him. Every time we confront her about her child she has some excuse from a "sleeping disorder" to telling us her child is too stubborn to control. It truly concerns me that she would tell us that she is physically unable to get out of bed. She even told me she left her son upstairs in their apartment in the shower by himself while she was downstairs on her cell phone! Our neighbors had to go up there one nite at 4 am to tell them to hush and the guy told them she was drunk and his buddy was high. I don't want to start something unless I am sure.

I am nausious all the time and food just makes it worse. Nothing ever sounds good to eat, everthing souds gross. Smell is sensative, gross smells (even a slight smell) make me feel like i am going to puke. i keep waking up in the middle of the night and can not go back to sleep for many hours. She is having occasional braxton hicks, but nothing constant. The doctor says the baby is too big, ultrasound said 71/2 lbs two weeks ago. She is scheduled for a c-section tomorrow. She is really nervous about epidural. Anyone with epidural during c-section have any problems?

I am 23 and my husband is 25. We have been together for 5 years and married for 2 years. I finished college, have a great job, and we own a 3 bedroom house. We will have our house paid off in 9 months and then we will have no debt. We are living a comfortable life. We have traveled all over and feel like we have done everything we wanted to do. We are homebodies and don’t feel the need to party or go out and are settled down.

We have been talking about starting our family for a year and know we are ready. I want to have 2 or 3 children and be done at 30. We want to try for a baby now and my mother has figured it out. She thinks 24 years old is too young to be a mother, but we don't. She said I should wait until I am 28 and I am giving up my youth at my age. I think she is bitter because she got pregnant at 18 (dating my father for a YEAR) and divorced at 24. We are trying anyways because its what WE want.

Will her attitude change? Do YOU think 24 is young to have your first baby?
