I keep getting really sharp pains in my stomach (all over, not in just one spot). I've tried resting, but I keep getting this stabbing pain all over, and a mild lower back ache. This has been going on since 9:00 am and it is now 11:30 am...still getting pains. What could be the cause of this? Anyone else experience this? Thanks.

Hi! It could be ligament pain. It could also be strong braxton hicks. If they are labor contractions then you'll definitely know it! Believe me when you start having real labor pains you'll feel tightening almost like bouncing contractions and the pains are similar to an extremely painful period or severe cramps like if you have the runs (sort tmi ha!). Don't stress too much but if its really bad then you should probably call your doc.

You betchya. Its your tendons stretching. Hurts like holy hell. The round tendons really start to kick in about this point, and they hurt enough to double you over and keep you from wanting to move. The best thing you can do it move.

If you're having the sensation that you need to bear down, (like you're having a BM), or have colored discharge, go to the hospital.

But trust me. The stabbing pains all over are tendons screwing with your muscles.

Hurts really freaking bad for a day or so, and then it gets better. The more you can move (walk or clean or something) the quicker they stretch and calm down.

More than likely your pain is caused by the ligaments around your abdomen stretching to accomidate your growing baby. My wife is 27 wks and this is just beginning for her. Call your doctor if you need re assurance but unfortunately it seems like this is just part of the deal!

is this your 2nd pregnancy? Its probably gas or round ligament pains. Lay on your left side for a while. The pain will go away.

I would call the doctor. Have you been having any spotting or anything? It also could just be your stomach expanding.
