why are most adults such pricks to us teens?
I'm sick of it respect is on two levels I'm not going to respect someone who dosen't respect me?

well I'm just saying that they should stop giving evil looks for no reason.I never said the world revoled around me.

I am not a teen but i agree with you. I don't give any body go to hell looks unless they are using a double seat stroller and have there bigger than average @ss out in the isle. I will throw some looks then.

Are you doing something that may cause them to look that way? If not, maybe you're just hanging out in the wrong place. If you're hanging around adults that give you dirty looks, move your hang out spot. I think adults (not all) act that way towards teens because they are jealous that they aren't young anymore. Maybe they even forget what it's like to be young and probably think that what you're doing is foolish or whatever. They forget that they had the same kind of fun when they were young too. I am not a teen anymore, but i feel ya on this one! I hated going into stores and employees staring and following me thinking i was about to steal something, when in all reality ms. granny may 2 isles down is stuffing arthitis cream in her pocketbook! Teens are treated with less respect than they deserve. Honey in 5 years it will get different, just how society is...

they talk about teens not giving respect. Look at these old people in there 60's and up. They are some of the least respectful people on the face of this freaking planet.

They feel that all teens are doing drugs, smoking, drinking. They are so steryotypical and it agrivates me so much. I think they base their opinions on the overall appearence of the adolecents of today. It is very rare to find a cerebral (also means intellectual) young adult and it is offensive to many, such as myself.

It's usually to let you know that you are approaching a dangerous subject, or treading where you should'nt, It is not out of disrespect, usually they are amused by your appearance, i.e multiple piercings, tattoos, hair color, things you will wish to change with age and relationships, things they never did. P.S. By disrespecting them back, you are confirming thier beliefs, adding to thier arsenal.

I generally don't give evil looks, but I find that I'm much more inclined to be polite to those teenagers who can make eye contact and smile. Smiling and eye contact are universal.

respect isnt to be givein it is to be EARNED. as an adult i have earned the rigth to be respected. I am sure that if you changed your attitude and showed some respect you would get it in return. if you are getting evil looks you are probably doing something that you shouldnt be doing.

1st of all Im an adult and I have more important things to do with my time then to give evil eyes to a bunch of teenagers, as far as respect you have to earn it if you dont give it you wont get it in return, another thing Im the grown up here Ive been through more then you, I have experienced more then you and Im also a mother, therefore why should I have to bow down to someone who is probably old enough to be my child? I dont even bow down to my fiance and you want me to bow down to you. Get a life little girl, its all in your head people arent giving you an evil eye you must have some sort of complex or parinioa.

They look at you this way because they see you doing/acting the way they use to and they know when you are up to no good!
