I posted earlier that I am 35 weeks pregnant, and just had some questions. I am having some pains at the bottom of my belly (where the ovaries are and down more) Its actually starting to get worse, I know about braxton Hicks and I have had plenty of them and this is diff. As I said I am going to the doc. tomorrow but was wondering if I should be concerned because its getting stronger. Also, I was wondering can you leak without loosing your mucus plug yet? or do you have to lose that before anything can happen? Sorry Im a first time mom and never experienced these things before. I have had to go to the hospital 3 times so far and have med. to stop my contractions. However last checkup 2 weeks ago they said that I was still closed, high, and thick. So any advice on the achiness or anyone experienced this. Thanks for all your help!

My husband is a fair complected caucasian man, with red hair and freckles. I on the other hand, am mixed, half hispanic, half caucasian, with dark brown hair. I was also born with red hair, which then turned to blonde, and eventually turned to brown. I think it would be really neat to have a redhead being the fact that I am pregnant now, and I am just wondering what the chances are of having a redhead.

Looking for suggestions for girl names. We don't like names that are misspelled or trendy. We don't want it to be too boring because we have a common last name, but not too "out there" either. Thanks!!

My husband and I want to adopt and have been to two orphanages and contacted a few adoption agencies. We have only received referals for older children, we even met an adorable 5 year old boy in the orphanage and just fell in love with him right away.
Since there are so many things to consider while adopting an older child, we are still very confused but would like to start a family as soon as possible.
We have thought about fostering the boy we met or another child for a while to see how compatible we are as a family and to test out the situation and see if this is what we really want and if this is what we really need in our lives right now.
Is this possible?
If so, what would I have to do? Whom should I contact?

Do you think being a foster parent is a good idea?

I'm in labor right now but I don't wanna go to the hospital until my water breaks! I'm having extremely strong contractions 4 -5 minutes apart and they are horrible! What can help me get my water to break? Also, can I tell if I am dilated? Like is there a way for me to check how much I have dilated?

Our first born was a natural delivery, but due to complications we are facing the prospect of a caesarian this time around. How did you feel about each delivery from a pain/recovery/hospital stay and general experience ?? Which form of delivery did you prefer??

My hubby works out of town. He is gone anywhere from a few days up to 2 weeks, sometimes..but not often more. When he leaves his oldest daughter from a previous marriage goes back to her mothers house untill he returns. A few times he has asked me to watch her for a few days more while he is gone and I have said no, she can go to her mother's. I say this because I treasure the time alone with my child and use the time he is gone to relax. If her Mother was incapable of watching her or was out of town then it would be a different story..but she isnt. When he is home and she is here I find myself constantly picking up after them and in general keeping house. So when he leaves it is my break to slough everything off ( except work ) and spend time with my child.
He has gotten offended the past few times that I have said no I will not watch her. Am I in the wrong for saying no to watching her for a few says while her mother has nothing more to do than go to work and come home?

Does having a first child truely, honestly prepare you for a second child in regards to the actual childbirth? I mean, I understand that after having the first, you would have the experience to reflect upon, but I can't imagine one would ever truely be prepared for what must be one of the most painful experiences a human can have, not to mention decide to put oneselt through. So there you have it...I really do want to understand if there is an ability to be truely prepared for the second.

Thanks!

Hello, everyone. I am a nanny for twin baby boys. They are almost eight months old and can sit up unassisted for roughly an hour and stand with help for 15 or so minutes. However, when they lay on their stomachs they can come up to the position of crawling, but they don't go anywhere. They can scoot backwards and roll around indefinitely. How can I help them begin to crawl? Thank you!

Shes 1 1/2 now. I wouldnt want to switch her to a normal bed quite yet. I'm afraid she would wake up in the middle of the night and be around the house or something. About what age is good? How did your child handle it?
