Because I heard that a law has just past saying that it isn't aloud anymore.

A few years ago I did some research on adoption most states allow anyone to adopted, married and single people. However there was a small number of states very small like 3 or less that don’t allow single adoption this is to prevent gays from adopting.

In Florida unless it was recently changed Gays cant adopted but they can be foster parents.

I'm pretty sure that's state law, which means it would be legal in California, but perhaps not in Arizona. My question is not whether it is legal, but whether it is a good idea. If it was a relative, or the orphaned child of a deceased friend, then it would make some sense. But why not let the intact couples give the kid both a father and a mother? There are enough couples that want to adopt, that it hardly seems fair to the kid.

I've never heard of any laws prohibiting single moms from adopting. I do know that it's harder to adopt in the US than it is overseas. I've known a couple of single moms who adopted from other countries. One from China and the other from Romania. It still cost a lot of money and time, but they said it was easier than having to jump through the hoops that the US requires.

Do you mean is a single mom ALLOWED to adopt? If so, that is determined by each state and as far as I know, every state allows single people to adopt.
