I have a 14 month old who I still check in on periodically thru out the night and there are mornings where if I wake before him I am gripped with fear when I walk towards his crib thinking whatif I found him dead. Do any of you have this fear? Is it normal or paranoid? When are you out of the woods for SIDS? I read an article in PARENTING that a 15 month old died from SIDS isnt that a bit old?

My fiance and I have been planning a vacation for the end of August, we have not yet booked. I just found out I am pregnant, about 5 weeks along. He still wants to go, but I'm not sure if I want to. I want to be able to enjoy my vaca. I would be about 10 or 11 weeks pg if I did go. Is it safe for me to fly if I decide go? (And, yes, I will ask my doc ;)

21 years old, Married, never pregnant, started the depo shot when I was 16 for 2 years got off of it for a year. Got back on in 2004 got off in April, Last couple periods have been on time and 4 days average...Supposed to start on the 19th and nothing...comments? questions? answers? Could I be pregnant and it just not show up yet? I havent been stressed out, the weather here in so cal is 110, could that be it?

A man has a sexual relationship with a woman one time only. The woman assures the man that she is on the pill and does not want children anyway. The man finds out later through a close friend of the woman that she is pregnant and she plans on keeping the child. The man also finds out from the friend that she believes it was a setup to get pregnant. The woman wants the man to be part of the childs life. He is angry about this and does not want to have anything to do with the woman. He feels no attachment to the child. What should he do and what is the moral (not financial) obligation that he has?

why does everyone insist on suggesting "white" names...i want my child to have a respectable name, but not something that everyone else will have. as far as LaKendra, thats MY name, and i love it... i think it has just the right amount of "black" and "white"
whats wrong with names that suggest certain ethnicities?

I know most people dont admit to this but 7 months ago I had an abortion. I am 19, my partner (the father) didn't want the child, financially we wouldn't have been able to bring the child up without some sort of benefits.
My parents felt I would have been wasting my life by bcoming a Mum so young, it took me ages to decide what I was going to do and eventually I just went with what everyone wanted me to.

I have felt relief, guilt, regret, and anger at myself but the thing I cant get to grips with is my longing to fall pregnant again, I am desperate to have a baby .

I feel like this is wrong and means my child died in vain.

Does it make me a bad person for feeling I want a child?

my stepdaughter just recently told me that she never looks/looked at me as a father figure in her life. she was very upset at the time when she said it because her mom and i decided to take her cell phone as a consequence for being disrespectful towards us and other adults.

this is the first time that she has ever said anything like this since my wife and i have been together..(almost 3 years)

i am really hurt behind this statement. i know i need to forgive her and continue to be there for her, and show her that i love her...but it is very hard because i'm holding a grudge, i'm bitter, and i really dont want to do any of those things right now..

I am a 50 Year old grandmother of 2. My youngest grandchild was placed under protection of Child Protective Services the day she was born because Mom tested positive for pot and was known to have used drugs early in Pregnancy. During most of my grandchild's life she has lived with me. But at 18 months, (she is now 19 mos), between my lawyer and her fathers lawyer, we worked it out so Dad has Primary Custody, I have Secondary Custody and Mom pays child support but can only see her child under my supervision.

She is living with a man accused of manslaughter. It was an accident but should not have happened. He is not allowed contact with the grandbaby. They both drink and are both unemployed. She see's little of her child by her own choice.

Here is the problem. She is pregnant again. I don't think I can do all this again. How do I handle it.

I'm about 8-9 days past ovulation. I think I'm prego, but the home tests aren't accurate yet. I've had major gas/bloating and what I think is implantation bleeding (I had it with preg 1 too).
I'm going into the dr. today for something else, can/should I ask for a preg test? I don't know if a pos. result would show up in my blood this early...anybody know? I'm about 4-6 days before missed period.

which is in 35 days. i asked my parents and they said if i can prove that im responsible enough they might consider getting me one. they told me to prove my responsibality i have to clean up after myself (i tend to leave things lying around). but my parents are forgetful but if i remind them too much they get mad. how can i remind them whitout them knowing that i am doing so? and if that doesnt work, then what do i do? im gonna be pissed if i dont get a rabbit for my birthday!

I am about to start offering cereal to my 6-month-old. I've been exclusively nursing and bought the cereal that mixes with mother's milk.

I need to buy a pump for this purpose, but will not be using it for any other reason as I will continue to nurse and not use bottles. I only need a manual pump to extract little bits.

I have no idea which brand or what type! What do other moms recommend, please?
