Those are probably weevils...and they don't come into your pantry, they are already in the products...sitting a long time, especially in warm conditions, can cause them to 'hatch'. I know it sounds gross, but a certain % of "bugs" are allowed in our food supply, and grain products tend to have most of them (flour, meal, cereals, etc). To keep that from occuring, I started keeping my flour and corn meal in the fridge, in ziploc bags or containers to keep them dry. Cereals you just have to eat more quickly, as they become rather stale if refrigerated.

Do you have a bag of potatoes in there? If so, throw them out immediately. I had an incident with this happening and it turns out I had forgotten about the potatoes and they rotted and became infested with fruitflies (which look like fleas when they are babies). My roommate came screaming into my bedroom at 6 am after finding the potatoes on the way back of the bottom shelf of the pantry and it was a very rude awakening.

If you have old flour or rice in there, they are probably hatching from there. I hate to tell you this, but grains tend to have eggs in them and the longer they sit in your cupboard, the more likely they are to hatch. The best thing to do is get rid of old grains, store your rice and flour in air-tight canisters, and thoroughly clean the pantry with a light bleach solution.

Rice weevils or Grain beetles. They live and lay eggs in your food. They could have came from the store. I would get rid of all box type food in your pantry and wait before you restock.

I'm not sure..could they be weavels?...they get into things like flour, cornmeal, anything really. They leave behind little grubs/worms and something similar to a cobweb...(in texture).

they could be baby roaches. they look kinda like big fleas sometimes. just go to walmart and get some combat bug traps that cover more than roaches and you'll be fine
