It's nice to know that there are some teenagers like you who can teach adults a thing or two. You're right. Most girls run around half nude. Of course it doesn't help to have Ms. Universe contestants run around with their boobs hanging out of their gowns, and most of those girls are 18. I don't know what happened, but for some reason women are willingly making of themselves sex objects and wonder why they can't get any respect. Children need proper supervision and have to learn that what we wear says a lot about us. If we want people to treat us with respect, then we have to be dressed in a way that shows we're deserving of respect.

I think that sometimes it's a combination of things.
- There is a decent percent of young mothers out there. I'm not saying all you moms are like this b/c I have friends who had children at a young age and their kids are just fine. But if you were a teenage mom with a girl and you're also discovering fashion and your role models in fashion are people like Beyonce, Brittney, Ciara and Christina, you are going to think that putting less clothe son is cute. So when you go to dress your child, that fashion sense comes across.
- Another reason might be that it is getting really expensive to live in the US. I live in the DC Metro area and it is extremely expensive to live here. So you have parents that are spending all their time at work to provide for their families. Their kids don't see them and in order to appease their children they give them money and drop them off to the mall or they buy them whatever they want. If the parent says no and the child has a fit, they give in and buy it for them just b/c they feel guilty b/c they are never around.
- Lastly, I just don't think parents think things through. It's bad enough that there are so many sex offenders out there. I mean you could have a little girl all covered up and the sex offender would still want her. Now it's like the parents are enticing these sex offenders.
Parents need to take more responsibility for their children. When you teach a young girl how to dress and take care of herself that will carry on when she becomes a young lady. She won't disrespect herself nor sell herself short.
Sex is everywhere and it is now synonymous with beauty. The sexier you are the prettier you are and all these little girls want to be is pretty. So if being pretty = being sexy then there you have it.
It's sad, but that was a good question

I see the same thing in kids today. All I can think of is that we live in such a hustle and bustle world, both parents working just to get by. This leaves the kids at home to raise themselves. TV is the most likely cause. If the parents aren't home to supervise their children, MTV will do it for them. That being said, I'm not cracking on working parents. You're doing what you have to do as did my parents. It's just that television has become adulterated since I was a kid. Bill Cosby's Fat Albert and Bugs Bunny ruled the airwaves. Now its bltches and hoe's. What a shame

I wouldn't go so far as calling them that, perhaps they come from a different up bringing then you. Maybe they live in a bad neighborhood, or their poor, all different things play into why they may dress that way. I'm not saying it's good that they dress that way, but don't be calling them or their parents, such a degrading and hurtful name, until you get the whole story.
Remember you can't judge a book by it's cover.

I agree. I have a 7 month old girl, and when she starts getting older, there is no way I would ever let her dress the way some parents let their girls dress.
I think it is cute, but you can't put your child out there like that b/c of all these sexual preditors that are everywhere. I don't want my daughter to get raped, murdered, or kidnapped. And dressing my girl in a provacative way would definately increase the chances of that.

That is the truth!!! I would never allow my daughter out of the house dressed like that --- nor would I ever buy thongs for a little girl. I don't understand it either. Parents are setting their little girls up for BIG TROUBLE later.

I want to know how these kids are getting these clothes. I know the little girls are not washing their clothes so the parents know. These parents should be jailed for being pimps because they are prostituting out their kids.

The little girl probably wants to be like her mother. Society doesn't help in the fact that it even sells this kind of underwear.
Society is to blame as much as bad parenting.
