make a count down with a list of all the things you are going to do to earn their respect and be responsible.
Start to do chores that you usually wouldn't do, not just cleaning up after yourself, things that can really help them out.
Put the list on the fridge or somewhere they can see it and mark off that things are done.
Don't forget though, keep doing it even after you get the rabbit.

OK, first you actually have to be RESPONSIBLE!! Clean your room, do your laundry, do stuff around the house! (without being told to do it!!) If they see you doing thing that you are normaly to lazy to do like mow the lawn or wash their cars then they will realize that you are doing it for the bunny. Also DON'T STOP doing your chores when you do get the rabbit!!!! That is the biggest mistake a kid can make, because if you stop doing your chores when you get what you want then they will know that you are only doing things to get what you want and don't really care about responsibilitys. If you do that then the next thing you want they won't give it to you. As far as giving hints to remind them draw a nice picture of a rabbit and hang it up on the fridge. Every few days draw a new pic that is more colorful and stuff to replace the old pic on the fridge. They will notice, even if they don't say anything.

Get a sticker of a rabbit and put it on their calendar on your birth date. Remind them that your room looks great and your clothes are picked up. Say something like " It's nice to be able to relax in a clean room" or "I'm going to make sure my closet is organized today". If you are consistent they will have to concede that you have kept up your part of the bargain. I hope this works for you but having a pet is a big step and if they don't get you a bunny it could mean they think this will be too much for you at this time. Good Luck

Rabbits don't really make great pets.
Sure they're cute and cuddly but I've never seen one house trained and if they pay attention to you, it's because you have food or something that they want. Pretty much primitive rodential behavior.
My dad raised some and I had to feed and water them every day.
Don't get me wrong, I love rabbits. Tasts like chicken.

If you don't get a rabbit for your birthday, PLEASE don't get angry at your parents. If they forgot, and you get some money for your birthday, and have your parent ok, buy one yourself. To help remind your parents, try drawing pictures of rabbits, leave them where parents can see them, write a poem about a rabbit and share it with your parents. Maybe your parents aren't forgetful, maybe they are going to get you a rabbit, but don't want to spoil the surprise, parents are silly creatures, I should know, since I'm one myself.

i can just tell by your post here that you are not mature enough to care for a rabbit. i would not get you one if i were your parent.
you might have to end up dealing with being pissed. once you have your own place and your own job you can get a rabbit.

Did you know that rabbits are very time consuming? - Did you also know that rabbits only live for 4-5 years?... Why not a fish - they die quickly and are fairly low maintenance - and cheap.
