I hand the tooth brush to my baby and we brush in the mirror together. I put that orajel training toothpaste on her brush which tastes really good (and is flouride free so swallowing isn't dangerous). After I'm done brushing my teeth I finish hers up a little to get all the spots she missed LOL. She likes to brush where there aren't even any teeth yet the best. Hope this helps.

definantly try one of the finger tip toothbrushes and find a baby toothpaste she likes the taste of. My son used to bite down or close his mouth when i tried to brush his teeth, but once i found a tooth past he liked the taste of he just cant get enough. He LOVES to brush his teeth and if anything my trouble now is getting him to stop!

Give her the toothbrush as a toy during playtime. Get your own toothbrush and play with her. Let her brush your teeth and then brush hers. At 9 months, she should respond to this as play, rather than a power struggle. Good Luck! Blessings on you and your daughter.

Have you tried one of those fingertip toothbrushes instead of a regular toothbrush?
