Pregnancy & Parenting - 14 June 2006

I overheard my young nieces talking about first, second and third base and who had reached where. Now seeing as I am well past my teens and barely aware of their american lingo the most i could gather is that it had something to do with sex. What are these bases that they were talking about and given that one is 13 and the other is just going to be 15 in july should I be concerned about their discussion?

I was due yesterday. I was 3cm dilated, all the way thinned out, and his head is completely dropped. My doctor said I am ready to go and should have this baby within the next 48 hours... which would be by tomorrow at five. She stripped my membranes hoping it would help, and she told me I would have some spotting. I didnt for three hours yesterday then I started to have brown chunks show up in my underwear.... it wasnt too much. Then right now I went for a 30 minute walk hoping to get things started and when I came home to go the bathroom there was a lot in my underwear and big chunks in the toilet. Do you think its just spotting from yesterday or something else?

My kid played with her chicco toy car and fell, got 2 head bumps. Good thing she didn't injured her head extensively. Is the toy company liable for that? They should make toys that are injure proof.

I have a friend who was seeing this female and she got pregnant and is saying that he is the father but heres the problem she was with two other guys before she was with my friend she gave birth to the baby and says whe gave the baby my friends last name so i was wondering if it is legal to give the child the last name without knowing if hes the father and if he didnt sign the birth certificate

He started getting interrested when he was 2 but since his baby sister was born (she's now 1 yr) he won't have anything to do w/ the toilet. We've tried videos, potty chair, rewards (including candy)... I would love to enroll him in the 3 yr old pre-school program this fall but he has to be potty trained.

I am 37 1/2 weeks pregnant and dialated 2 cm 80% effaced, the dr says that my baby is already 8lbs or larger I really don't know how much more of this I can take so how long do you think it will be before i go into labor from experience..

If I'm 11 1/2wks pregnant would I know it if I were to have a miscarriage? I here some women saying they had a miscarriage and didn't have any symptoms for a week or two........would you at least lose your pregnancy symptoms?
