Im 15, and im getting frustrated cuz i havent had a prd yet. I dont have Arm pit hair yet, and i have a lil pubic hair, but not a lot... I've been havin yeast infections, but im on a lot of Rxs, so that's prob the reason. I know that its nothin to look forward to, but it's kinda like a 'mile stone' that i need to cross, if you know what i mean... im about to get my DL, and i want to be able to do the whole dating thing. Has ne one else had a late late starting period other than me... i just feel kinda 'left out' or passed up.

I have VERY hairy legs. We (Dr and i ) have already gone to a Huge extreme to get me to develop - we removed part of my right lung be cause it was so infected with like this TB kinda illness... but that was only in Feb... so it may take a lil longer. I feel like my breasts are growing faster now, my nipple is getting hard -- is that normal? and they are also getting really touchy....like they hurt when i touch them in the shower. Anyway, Thanks everyone for understanding.

First of all...some girls don't get their periods until they are 16, however, if your worried then I would go to a gyno and see if there is a problem going on. It's probably nothing but trust me...you should enjoy it while you can

One of my daughters didn't have her first real period, just some spotting, until she was 17. I will tell you she was a student athelete which I know also helped. I also know stress can prevent periods. YOu are probably way stressed out because of the surgery and the fact that you are devloping a feminine form but not a cycle. Relax it will come and remember most girls can't wait to get thier periods and after 2 or 3 hate them so much they wish they would stop.

By the way...my wife has no pubic hair either and she doesn't shave down there.

No, not at all, some people start at 16! If you are concerned, you can always talk to your doctor, but there really isnt any need to just yet. I know how you feel, im 13 and all of my friends have started quite a while ago, but be patient (and dont worry!) It will come in its own time :) Were the lucky ones, we dont have to worry about it yet and our friends do! x.x.x.x

Well I personally didn't start late, but I had a lot of friends that did. Every womans body is different, so we go through different phases at different times. Once you start there are new bills that come around each month i.e pads and/or tampons, new panties, new clothes..LOL, so enjoy this time while it last and live stress free, you should be fine. But if you find yourself stressing a lot over this you should go to your doctor, they've heard it all before so its nothing to be ashamed or embarrassed about. I wiish you the best..Take Care

talk with your doctor. its probaly all the rx's your on. ask your doc if there is a lesser dose, a different med you can take for your illness. if there isn't you'll just have to wait on your body to produce these things you want. be glad you don't have them yet. you don't have to worry about stains when you wear light colored pants; you don't have to worry about shaving all the time, you don't have smelly or hairy armpits or hairy legs to be embarrased by. hang in there dear. life ain't over at 15 and by the time you reach your 50's you'll wish you didn't have a period or hairy body to shave.

Dont be to worried about it i felt exactly the same way, i felt like i wanted it to just come so it could be over waiting for it to surprise me, it eventually did when i was at a friends wearing white pants!! i didnt think that would ever happen to me(the white pants thing!!), the one time i forgot a pad for a just incase, it just had to come, so anyway i just asked my friend if she had one and it was all fine, i was 15, and still am. Just always go prepared.

Exercise is supposed to help bring on menstruation quicker. However, I wouldn't push it. Don't try to grow up to fast because it is uncomfortable, costly (midol, pads, liners, tampons etc.) and leaves you feeling less fresh than you want to be (especially when your on a date). Some women even experience bad odor with thie cycle. It will come soon enough and besides without a period you can't get pregnant.

Honey with all the health issues you have and the medications you are taking dont be concerned with starting your period. Some meds will delay it and is a common side effect. Be happy that you are healthy and that the doctors know what to do to help you. Milestone? believe me its one that many of your friends now wish they had never met. You are YOU....dont worry about it.

Sweetie, sorry to hear about your TB, that must be hard for you. Everyone develops at a different rate and there is not such thing as normal. Does that help you?

My sister-in-law was nearly 17 when she had her first. If you're thin, which was the case with her, you may not have enough body fat. I think the average, if I'm remembering correctly from what her doctor said, is around 17% body fat to start.
