if we loose our way of life and the middle class keeps getting bled at this rate people may finely start paying attention to the things that should matter. right now people only think as far as today's headline. which in this case is almost always Iraq or terror. truth is if we would have been more worried about our own house and were watching our own yard we may never have had to tread this current path. we have a commitment to keep the people of this country free not to be the hall monitors of the world.
if im wrong why?

I mean Bush is as cocky & arrogant as ever even with one of the lowest approval ratings ever. Is Bush "bulletproof" to any criticism because of his strong religious faith & if so why does anyone bother to criticize him in his last 2 years?

of what a dictatorship really is? Have they lived in Cuba, or Iraq under Hussein? Or are they just whiners?

(I'm trying to be neutral here)
Based on the present political and economic situation that the US, is facing right now, would you have wanted Operation Iraqi Freedom to push through, assuming you had the power to influence things 4 years ago?

2 Questions:

1. Did you support, or at least agree back then? Why?
2. How about today, after the aforementioned basis? Why?

How come we have so many people in this country that sympathize with Islamofascism (liberals in Congress, media, across country etc.), but not with the Jewish people in Israel, or Jewish people in general?

Conservatives and liberals should all be united on defending Israel.

The same can be said for Christianity, as well as Judiasm too.

Why do people expect to be treated as equals but at the same time, when it comes to politics, expect to be pandered to as minorities?

They skipped the Gay and lesbian debate on LOGO. They skipped the Hispanic debate on Univision and now they are skipping the black debate at Morgan State.

So my question is, have they stopped pretending that they give a damn about minorities. I mean we all know Republicans could care less about minorities. But at least in the past they pretended to care. Even Bush and Newt Gingrich are saying this is a mistake. Whats up with the republican party?

-Israel receives billions of dollars in economic aid from the US Govt. annually.

-The Israeli military could not function at such a high rate w/o billions of dollars in annual US military aid.

-If/when the US attacks Iran it will be as much (if not more) for Israel's national security as the US national security.

-If the holy land wasn't a part of Israel the US would have almost nothing to do with Israel.

-The only real difference between a US state & Israel is that Israelis don't have to pay any US taxes for all the things that they get from the US Govt.

-Now I have no problem with helping out Israel because I believe they've got ever right to be the protectors of the Holy Land but I think they should at least have to pay US taxes for all the billions of $ in US welfare/military aid they receive every year. Don't you think that is fair?

and patents the idea, raises capital, develops an adversising campaign, develops a distribution network, leases a factory, hires someone to design and make the machines that will be used to make the car, works with engineers to come up with an efficient manufacturing process that is simple and straightforward and involves very simple tasks being performed by the factory workers, and then hires workers to do these basic tasks, the same tasks that they would otherwise do at a competing plant but because there is no one more plant they get paid a little more than they otherwise would, and the car is a big hit and its inventor, his investors that took a huge risk on the new car, and the engineers make a huge profit......

Did they make it "on the backs of the workers?"

sharply reducing the chances that people in the middle class can BECOME rich?

Wherever you draw the line to define "rich" - some economists use $1MM liquid net worth, constant dollars - the shift is more and more households crossing above it. Right now it's between 500,000 and a million households per year, usually about 3/4 of a million. If you drew a similar line to define "comfortable" say a household between $100K and $500K liquid net worth, that's about 1 in 4 of us, versus about 1 in 10 twenty five years ago. In another generation it could be 50/50.

YES the households already above those lines have really done well, even by a greater degree than the rest of us, in most cases.

But in absolute terms there has been a dramatic increase in the proportion of this country that "lives the life" - - - why throw the baby out with the bathwater????

Even if you hate the folks who are already rich, don't you love yourself more?

Not every single democrat or republicans but the majority of those in power right now.

I see it like this
Republicans: think they can do things that other countries are not allowed to do because of our way of life. Think we are superior so we do not have to follow the rules other countries should go by.

Democrats: They want to please the majority at the expense of their own personal feelings. They do what they think is popular no matter what they personally think is right.

Neither side is doing a good job right now with the country in my opinion. I had hopes when the democrats took congress but they have done nothing but disappoint.

being a garbage collector has a higher value than an "unreal" job like teaching economics, history, business, science, or engineering to students?

Or is it that those who claim such things are opposed to what they think is being taught in an odd sort of elitism of their own?

OK, Wellstone could see through all the propaganda; others, GW Bush duped quite easily, noteably Kerry, Edwards and Hillary Clinton. We can't have it both ways, either Bush is stupid and can't fool anyone or he is highly intelligent, to have duped so many Democrats or those Democrats who he duped should not have college diplomas.
