I mean Bush is as cocky & arrogant as ever even with one of the lowest approval ratings ever. Is Bush "bulletproof" to any criticism because of his strong religious faith & if so why does anyone bother to criticize him in his last 2 years?

His Faith provides him solace from Guilt.

President Bush's "arrogance" is merely incorrectly identified. It is actually his "convictions" that make him appear so. If a man believes he is doing what is best in any situation, and that man believes in the constitutional right for others less informed to disagree with him, what does it matter what anyone else thinks? It remains his responsibility and he must continue to do what he believes is best, even when none of his choices may present a perfect solution to a problem.

He can gain solace in the fact that his own low approval rating is still about twice that of congress'. So, since he is responsible to do what his convictions guide him to do, it does not matter if some or several disagree. That is their constitutional right in this free society. Some less informed individuals often mistake this for arrogance. We have only small amounts of the information it takes to make informed decisions that affect the whole country. He has much more information. I hope, for I do believe in God, that he prays or meditates fervently on his decisions to increase his likelihood of making the best choices and decisions.

I also like to remind myself that the media reporting statistics, as well as different groups compiling these statistics, usually have some bias, if not a full agenda. It is, therefore, prudent to take any indications of approval ratings for the president or congress with a grain of salt. I make my own decisions and am happy that our president does too. Often I don't fully agree with some that he makes, but I am thankful that it is not my own responsibility to make them.

For one thing, people with strong religious faith don't spend time fearing terrorist attacks or trying to get others to fear them. Every speech he gives about the draconian measures we need to take in this country to protect ourselves from these mysterious enemies who want to attack us proves that he in fact has no faith in anything other than American cunning and arms and surveillance, and that's no man of God. As long as the religious right continues to pony up the donations and the voters to support his morality smokescreen platform, he will claim to be born again.

Why bother to criticize him? Because many people were erroneously swayed by his {confidence/arrogance} in the wake of 9/11 and went along with some hellish things we shouldn't have; like invading Iraq and claiming it would make us safer when in fact the opposite is true.

Bush's self-professed religious faith is just another sign of his being totally ego-centric! HE speaks to God, HE is the Decider, HE knows all the answers, HE is on the right path, HE will stay the course, HE has accomplished the mission, HE sees improvement and progress, HE, HE, HE!

You're right, criticism doesn't seem to shake him. He has himself totally convinced that he is the Savior of our country. HE has put himself on par with the very God he professes to believe in.

But I really think he can't change his positions and beliefs, or his whole world would come crashing down on him. It's more of a self protection than any real belief. He's still the mean spiteful little boy he always was.

His faith? In what? Globalism? Torture? The ultimate destruction of America?

And what exactly is his faith? Christianity? Satanism?

He is bulletproof to all of these things because of the steps he has taken to consolidate power within the American government. He is bulletproof because 99% of our politicians are already bought and paid for. You think Congress or the House is going to do anything? They sure aren't going to impeach him or the VP.

The Clinton's and Bush's vacation together. Rupert Murdoch has been funding Hillary for quite sometime now.

Washington is foul. And it has been foul for many many decades.

Bush doesn't have faith - at least not in the God you're thinking of. His God is the devil. Bush really doesn't care what the American people think. In his eyes, we are mere peons. We simply don't matter to him. He couldn't care less about his approval rating. What really matters to him is carrying out the orders of his "rulers" (the globalists) because he knows if doesn't, his punishment will be swift and severe. And that's what really scares the heck out of him. He knows what they are capable of.

Sometimes it makes him impervious to reason. Bill Maher made a biting comment about Bush's faith on Friday's show: "Maybe a president who didn’t believe our soldiers were going to Heaven might be a little less willing to get them killed.

Pretty much -- but it's not just (or even) his religious faith.

It's his belief in himself -- what some call arrogance -- that allows him to ignore anyone who disagrees with him.

People criticize him, hoping that others in govt will act. So far, however, nobody has taken them up on that request -- not even the elected officials in Congress who said they would.

You are so right!!! He doesn't need anyones approval nor do any of us if we have God's! He is bulletproof to criticism which makes him a good leader cause he stays focused on what he feels he is being led to do. Something so many are blind to! He has a mission and in the end he has to look in the mirror and to God and live with that! I don't know why people continue the bash Bush rants cause they really are wasting their time!

His faith is a ruse. It's just political trickery. If he were a man of faith he wouldn't be so cavalier about violating the Ninth Commandment over and over.
