Not every single democrat or republicans but the majority of those in power right now.

I see it like this
Republicans: think they can do things that other countries are not allowed to do because of our way of life. Think we are superior so we do not have to follow the rules other countries should go by.

Democrats: They want to please the majority at the expense of their own personal feelings. They do what they think is popular no matter what they personally think is right.

Neither side is doing a good job right now with the country in my opinion. I had hopes when the democrats took congress but they have done nothing but disappoint.

I totally agree. I see two parties who are so divided on issues it is getting scary.

The Republicans basically do whatever they want and get away with it. If the Dems were acting this way the Repub's. would have removed a ton of people from office.

The Democrats are a bunch of chickens who were voted into Congress based on America wanting a change. They sold us these ideas about how they were going to change the country and stop the war, but to this day have done nothing about the issues.

People will say, we'll they can't do anything about these issues b/c they can't get the votes and if they do, Bush will just veto it. Well they aren't even fighting. Instead of fighting, they are counting votes.

Republicans hate the Dems b/c they are against the President and 'don't support him.' But what they don't realize is that the Dems are supporting the Republican crooks by not fighting these guys. The Dems are just name calling, and aren't following thru by placing severe penalties on these people which they can. Bush and his administration, for one, started an illegal, yes illegal war. Isn't commiting something illegal, called a crime? For the Dems it would be. The Dems are helping out the Repub's by not 'bringing them to justice.'

This government is becoming for the politican, by the politican, not the American people.

Everything goes in cycles. In the 60s and 70s the Democrats were for the war in Viet Nam. The Republicans were against it. Now it is the exact opposite with the Iraqi war. Eisenhower was accused of killing the military with all the cut backs. Ike was also the person who came up with the phrase "Military Industrial Complex". Johnson was accused of being a hawk because of his spending on the military. Nixon was both a hawk and a dove because he spent money on the military at first and campaigned against it on his reelection. Carter was a complete dove who cut the military to the bone. Reagan was the biggest military spender in our history. It goes on. What is right for one party today, is right for the other party tommorrow.

Whoever mentioned Lincoln became into liberal does not comprehend their historical past. Lincoln became into very conservative, he had to deliver slaves lower back to Africa by using fact he did not think of the white and the black could ever get alongside, yet I examine someplace that Frederick Douglass, the well-liked black spokesman for the period of the Civil conflict confident him in any different case. Lincoln became right into a republican, the Democrats have been people who fought the conservatives to maintain slavery. in the 60s it became into additionally the Democrats who hosed the blacks in the city of Birmingham (the place I stay). possibly this is why Alabama replaced to a conservative state.

The Democrats are, as a whole, moving way too far left. I'm sure there are Democrats that don't like this but right now they don't have a lot of influence. The Republicans need to get back to their fiscally conservative roots. far too much spending going on by both parties..........

I must agree with that assessment -- I think both of the major parties have abandoned the American people as a whole -- each catering solely to a very small vocal faction, and ignoring the harmful side-effects of their action (or inaction).

Time to get rid of both parties.

I don't really want to get into the Republican /Democrat comparison. But I certainly take issue with your perception of Republicans.
Republicans recognize that certain responsible actions need to be taken to maintain a productive, safe and secure world for future generations. The USA is in an economic and moral position to accept much of this responsibility and welcomes any countries who choose to look beyond their selfish interest to participate, rather than reap the reward without contribution.

Democrats I know have honorable ideals, but not being one myself, I am not in a position to speak for them.

Republicans... the last group entrusted by corporate forces to pretend to run the country. Arrogant, indifferent to unity, they bullied us all for the last six years.

The people wearied of gop rule (always they do after a while)

The corporations will allow Democrats to appear to be the majority for a while.

The corporations run the country all the while.
