If liberals are always interested in protecting people who have a minority position, and the minority of people support the war, why don't liberals respect that point of view?

"Because they'r evil. Because they're ruthless. Because they would do it to us in a heartbeat."

1. These things don't matter. Torture of an enemy, no matter how evil, no matter how ruthless is in direct violation of the principals of democracy.

2. The fact that they would do it to us just proves the point even more. They do it. We don't. That is what makes us the good guys and them the bad guys. As Friedrich Nietzsche said "Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster."

3. Don't you think an enemy would be more willing to surrender if they knew they would be treated humanely? If they knew they would be tortured they'd probably strap a bomb to themselves to blow up a few people as they went.

4. Torture makes new enemies. George Washington, the father of our country, strictly forbade mistreatment of POW's during the Revolutionary War, even though the enemy allowed it. This actually convinced enemy troops to join the American cause.

I think so. Bush is no longer listening to Cheney and Rove. I guess Bush's new circle is Robert Gates, Condi Rice, Gen. Petraeus, and Josh Bolten.

We are bogged down in Iraq because of an enemy who does not engage our troops unless he is cornered, doesn't wear a uniform, covers his face and hides amongst women and children, (even in schools and churches), plants bombs then runs away, and recruits children to blow themselves up in suicide attacks.
He will even blow up his own people if they don't cooperate with him, or give him assistance.
Are we facing the end of civilization if we don't win in Iraq?
Don't we have to put politics aside, and put all our effort into defeating this barbaric enemy?

To hear American Conservatives describe the situation, there are dead Canadians lying in the streets because of Nationalized Health Care.
Have the Canadians (or people in Germany and Israel for that matter) taken to the streets in protest to demand the right to buy Blue Cross Blue Shield policies at $500 per month?

This can lead to the end of the human race and everything else living! Get over your political parties and who said what! When there is no water left, THEN what are you going to do?!? You're lucky that my generation will fix your problems. If you all don't believe global warming then look up global dimming. That will explain why we are not completely feeling the effects of global warming. I would rather trust the scientists instead of the corporations...

It really annoys me when idiots say they only went to war over the oil. Do these people really think that Bush and Blair really care if fuel was 100 times the price. They would still be driving around in big cars, with the old central heating going full pelt The only people who would suffer would be the rest of us, so even if the war was fought for, or over oil supply then it is US who benefit as a society not them and them alone. Wake up England and realise it is in our best interest to keep the worlds oil coming this way. You lot all want the luxuries in life but dont understand just how they are so easily available. I know innocent people have died but we all are going to one day. I wants a big telly and the electric to keep it going, and so I believe do YOU.

He rather focus on bombing Iraq and trying to control the oil supply and stock market but when it comes to debt also with respecting Purple Heart, Veterans, and Senior Citizens he can careless about them. He is the worse president america ever had. Senior Citizen has to fall to their death worrying about their own kids covering there expensive cost that they couldnt get in there life time. Including funeral cost medical, and etc. So, really what did Bush do for america that is positive toward our people? I mean being fair to all of us and not just republicans but himself. So are we being protected really? I rather have the money go where its suppose to go and not toward not just for republicans but the people besides trying scare people with all this terrorism BS pulling the wool over everyones eyes for his own good. Its time to step up and help our parents and Grandparents TELL CONGRESS WE NEED A CHANGE FOR THE BETTER!

Okay, let's take a look at our patriotism over the years:
We depend on foreign countries for most of our bare necessities such as oil, gas and almost half of our national products. We buy mostly imported automobiles, our clothes are made in sweatshops all across the 3rd world, CHINA makes probably 80% of what we use in a day. Here in Michigan we tell Canadians that they don't need to dump their own garbage in their own country, we have a president who keeps constant communication with the country that helped fund and attack our country( Saudi Arabia ) whose father happened to fund the same terrorists we now call "insurgents " when he was director of the CIA. We have troops, who the only time probably seen an Iraqi was when they pumped gas and paid for it , are dying over in a country that is heading to civil war . And on top of that didn't all these hate groups that we've had here WAY before "Al Qaeda" became a household name, truly define "terrorism" after our own civil war?

Sheik Omar Abdel-Rahman or the Blind Sheik has committed terrorist attacks against Egypt because he opposes their secularism.

There are Islamic terrorist’s attacks DAILY across the globe in various countries. Are all of those because of American imperialism or our theft of their oil?

BAGHDAD, Iraq – While many Americans relaxed in front of their Television sets Saturday, watching their favorite football teams in the comfort of air conditioning, eating chips and tossing back beers, our Soldiers and Marines in Iraq suited up again in heavy body armor and ammunition. Americans cheered and jeered football teams while their protectors executed more successful missions under the blazing sun in a desert on the other side of the world.
It was another blowout victory for the American troops: 31-0. They scored 14 terrorists KIA and 17 detained.

For greater detail on where our troops struck out against evil yesterday, see the full article GN-Iraq-45: War on Terror Blog©2007, ARM, all rights reserved, http://blog.360.yahoo.com/blog-DfkctJU7dK5B7LcNROoyVQ--?cq=1

These are typical numbers for any given day in Iraq, but the media reports things like "5 killed in bicycle bombing." without mention in the headline that the enemy targeted civilians AGAIN.

News Alert - News Alert - News Alert - News Alert - News Vietnam Memorial in Washington DC Vandalized

The Vietnam War Memorial in Washington DC was vandalized Friday night, September 7th. There were no witnesses to the act of desecration which was discovered by a Park Service employee.

The vandal appears to have walked along the wall while squirting an oil based substance from a container on the lower sections of the panels. The liquid discolored the polished surface of the stone memorial and was absorbed into the porous stone where the names of our fallen heroes are etched into the wall.

Many names have become unreadable due to the absorbtion of the fluid.

On March 17th a large number of veterans and patriots gathered around the area of the Vietnam War Memorial to prevent just such a threatened desecration by the radical leftist demonstrators associated with the ANSWER coalition, SDS and the Black Cloc. An attempt was made to deface the memorial late that day but was stopped by National Park Police with several radicals arrested.

No radical group has stepped forward yet to claim responsibility for this outrage to the memory of our veterans. It is unlikely any will.
