We are bogged down in Iraq because of an enemy who does not engage our troops unless he is cornered, doesn't wear a uniform, covers his face and hides amongst women and children, (even in schools and churches), plants bombs then runs away, and recruits children to blow themselves up in suicide attacks.
He will even blow up his own people if they don't cooperate with him, or give him assistance.
Are we facing the end of civilization if we don't win in Iraq?
Don't we have to put politics aside, and put all our effort into defeating this barbaric enemy?

JPENERGY: What does being in the "Anti-Comunist movement" for 10 years buy you? Most people were against Comunism. SO WHAT?
I noticed that a guy who claims to know so much, has offered nothing about how to deal with the problems I've asked about.
What did you disscus in your "Anti-Comunist" meetings----perhaps, what a nasty guy Karl Marx was?
If you have nothing to offer, why do you answer?

One doesn't have to be a vet to realize that neither Bush, nor Hilary, or Obama has any idea as to how to win in Iraq.
But a couple of these guys can tell us how to run away, and let our children deal with the problem.----Is that your proposal?

The "arogance of American power" has never demanded that we behead those who don't share our beliefs.

Americans need to get over their giant guilt complex. We became a rich and powerful country mostly by accident . We benefited in both world wars, simply because of our remote location away from the centers of these wars. Also we were lucky in that we had a new country with many natural resources. ---WE DID NOTHING WRONG.
When one tribe defeats another tribe and takes their land we all call it "tribal warfare".---When Americans pursued their own interests and took over other lands, the world called it " Yankee Imperialism".
When other countries go to war, they believe they should keep the "spoils of war" if they win.---But they don't think Americans should do "such terrible things".
We must pursue our own best interests, whether the world approves or not.-- --Who amongst them is qualified to judge?
We must do whatever is necessary to win against barbarians, and not allow them to use our own rules against us.----We have always ended up doing this anyway, because we often have no choice.--Even the Americans laughed at the British because they were too proud to hide behind a tree in warfare. --But, if a beast attacks you, he cares nothing about your dignity and integrity, he will kill you if he can.--And you're a stuff-shirt fool if you let him, and that's how our history books will describe you.

As long as the current Syrian and Iranian governments are in existence, Iraq will not be saved. US must support Iranian people to overthrow their regime by their own and decide their own future.
Iranian government and Syria are arming the terrorist and giving them infinitive amount of arms and support. So what ever US tries to do, there will be more child brain washed and more bombs in Iraq.
Iranian government is buying itself time with this mess in Iraq. Iraqis are dying and Americans are busy fighting... so Iranian government can do it's nuclear program and suck more of the oil's money while they can.
The main problem is not In Iraq, and US knows it. But they don't know what to do with Iran's leaders.
Other countries of the region might as well play a role in this mess, such as Saudi Arabia.

We are not bogged down in Iraq.
We will win in Iraq, so there is no if we do not win.
The way we defeat the terrorists is simple. Take out all regimes that help them. Drill for oil in our country so our enemies stop making so much money.

To defeat any enemy, invisible or otherwise, you must eliminate his support. You must eliminate his ability to wage war. These people are being funded mostly by Saudi Arabia and the contractors we are hiring to rebuild Iraq. Stop the funding and win the war.

Because we have fellow Americans in government, business, media and in society as a whole who insist only that we fight fair, go by the rules, nothing underhanded, while our enemies gallivant around, no rules of engagement, free to kill anyone including innocent women and children, use our own Constitution to protect them from criminal activities and maximize on organizations such as ACLU, Moveon.Org, and liberals to do their dirty work.

Yes I agree. You can't win a football game with one side following the rules when the other side don't have to and you can't win a war this way either. Until people start putting our country first and their politics second I see no real solutions.

It is sad that it had turned into another guerilla war just like Viet Nam. I don't think it was
expected at all.
But to pull out without trying to make them our friend now would be insane.
We don't want Iran to walk in and take the country over.
