No! It will be just like Vietnam. The demonstration in Washington yesterday proved that there is considerable resistance by U.S. citizens to Der Fuhrer's war games in Iraq. I think most people in America have concluded that they are predicated on lies and deception, just as was Vietnam. I expect resistance, opposition and demonstrations to continue to grow, just as they did during the Vietnam era, and the American people will ultimately force our government to do their will, just as they ultimately did in Vietnam. This time however, I don't expect it to take more than a decade to accomplish. America has learned its lesson from Vietnam. A house built of cards should be torn down, not allowed to continue to exist as a monument to duplicity, deception and stupidity.

As for Dubya, he will retire in disgrace and dejection, as did my cousin, LBJ, outed as the liar he truly is. I have no doubt that sometime in the future an expose will appear finally outing the truth about Iraq in all its gory details, just as Robert McNamara did a few years ago concerning Vietnam.

Yea and you can go down with that ship if you want.

It's like staying on the Titanic after the ship has flooded. Except in this case it's entirely America's fault that Iraq has turned into such a quagmire.

If it's out of duty and self-immolation, by all means stay the course!

Smarter people will jump into the life boats and survive.

With Al-Sadr and his crew walking out of the Iraqi government yeaterday. The Shiite is about to hit the fan. One of the reasons he sighted. No deadline date for the Americans leaving. So it will go on for a very long time. Or until they turn on us.

The reasoning is sound, the facts aren't. Since the beginning of this years attacks our down, the Iraqi military has gotten better dnt eh terrorists are on the run. Look, the war isn't over yet, and whatever your views may be we can't leave now, just as a new strategy is being implemented.

I have been reading the various plans of people running for office, in regards to Iraq. Clearly, we need options to consider.

I look forward to seeing some options from the Democrats that do not bring about disaster for the Iraqi people or the US.

Of course if the left would stop undermining the war effort, we could actually kick some butt, turn the country over to Iraqis and come home. Together we stand, divided we fall

Don't worry after equipping the Sunnies who were shooting at you a few month ago and equipping the Shiites we will stick around and see them go apesh!t on each other in this civil war.

You can say that again. I mean about the dog chasing its tail. If this country can't get it together a bit before too long, they just really don't want to get it together and we won't be able to force that on them without turning into another Saddam..

Woah, slow down, people wont understand you. You mean things are getting worse in Iraq? I thought they were getting better, after all, democracy is going to kick in any minute now. Makes tons of sense that we stay there, because if things are getting worse than when we leave, things will probably stabilize, and that's not our goal at all.
