Nothing a little professional cleaning won't fix.

Here is the original question that prompted me to check this out.

It's ironic that the far right will use a memorial to another failed conflict to try and foot the blame on the very ones who protested it (originally) in the first place--while many of their fathers, sons, and brothers had fought and died in that war.

(And also notice that many of the far right never served in Vietnam.)

I will say what I told that one. I deplore what they did and I despise the inference that the left the right or the color blind did it without proof.

Your promotion of prejudice is equally as defacing as the act of placing goo on a treasured monument. You ever read about Martin Luther King? Talk to returning Vet's? Vietnam, Gulf, Iraq? This ignorance breeds more and energy better spent concerned with how to promote change not continue bad blood. Blood shed already. You want more on your hands here?

Thank you for your concern. No disrespect intended.

I find it hard to believe with all the terrorists scares that there aren't thousands of video cameras in DC, particularly around the monuments.
Whomever did this would have had to be captured on tape. If not, there's a big problem with all the money we dumped into Homeland security.

OK boys and girls - here is a quiz: How many Vietnamese were killed by the commies after we left South Vietnam? When you find out that is was between one and 2 million people, does that make the old hippies that protested the war proud?

Some one disgraced a national treasure. If some one did that to my car I would be pissed off. That memorial is just as much my property as my car and 10000X more important.
Sure you can fix it. But it was done by a coward before the freedom march.
There is no exaggeration here at all. And shame on all of you who say there is...

Are you saying that this is justifuable, calling it "supposed" and "NOTHING a little professional cleaning won't fix? They said it was absorbed into the granite, and that is not the point. How dare anyone disrespect any American soldier, let alone thousands! You are belittling America and Americans. You are obviously not a patriot!

And what in the world does that have to do with "the looney left".

IIRC, the "Right" has always hated that memmorial, anyway, because they say it symbolizes defeat and death. They much prefer the WWII monument which celebrates war.

It would appear that some people would take any chance to try and link something bad to liberals, and in some cases conservatives. It's a sorry thing to have seen this on YA, mainly because it shows how the debate on here has become mostly destructive rather than constructive.

On the contrary, it doesn't go far enough

We used to have the FBI monitering these anti-USA protest groups to help prevent such crimes before they happened. There used to be a House Committee on Un-American Activities. Now a days, these criminal organizations operate with impunity

We need to infiltrate these scumbags and watch them very closely. Today they defaced a memorial. Tomorrow they might bomb a courthouse. It's happened before...

SDS, Black Panthers, Patty Hearst and the SLA, etc...

Yeah. A few vandals doing impermanent damage in a park = the traitors acts of all Democrats.

My favorite question on Answers has been about "rainbow sheep". A nursery school in some remote part of England substututed "rainbow sheep" for black sheep in the bah, bah, bah song. This incident was cited as an example of political correctness by liberals, which undermines our schools, God, and the American way!

Type rainbow sheep in the YA! search bar. There have been 35 questions on it!
