If liberals are always interested in protecting people who have a minority position, and the minority of people support the war, why don't liberals respect that point of view?

Hehehe...good one.

It all boils down to "liberal tolerance".

Here is how it works. We HAVE to be tolerant of EVERYTHING the liberal says, thinks, does or believes. But, God help us if we say, think, do or believe differently.

Hence, anybody that is not as opposed to this war as they are is nothing but a warmonger that deserves to die.

I'm sure you have seen the liberal post's on yahoo calling for the deaths of Republicans/conservatives, usually the more horrible the death the better to them.

1. A minority of people support the way the war is being fought, not necessarily the war itself.

2. The point you are making is a good one. Liberals only support minority rights when they can use race, sex, etc to divide and splinter us. This way they have victims to parade around.

A softball question, Grasshopper! The 'liberal' is a propaganda construct. In real life there is no such a critter. The 'liberal' has been created so that the reactionaries that have hijacked the party of Eisenhower, Nixon, Ford, Lincoln,Teddy Roosevelt, and Barry Goldwater would have a strawman enemy to attack. So you see the 'liberal', as defined by the right wing talk show folks, doesn't exist then your 'question' has no real answer. Also, who says that all points of view aren't 'respected'? Disagreeing with a point of view has nothing to do with 'respect'....it's when such people as George Bush tries to sell an occupation that has failure written all over it as a future 'victory' that people begin to disrespect the person that holds that particular view. Comprende?

We do respect it. We did support this war in the beginning, until we saw that mission accomplished hadn't been accomplished.

Why do the Republicans continue to support this war when the American people don't?

Hehehehehe! Nice one!

I remember a tale about democracy that went something like this:

"In a democracy you have to consider the views of the minority. Otherwise it is like five wolves and one sheep deciding what to have for dinner."

in other words, neither side should ignore the other's view.

hey why dont you just open up yoru fridge and throw everything into a pot and call it dinner. Not all liberals are the same and if the minority of people support the war why would you suport the opinion to begin with when it is costing lives and not doing anything but lining "others" pockets.
