News Alert - News Alert - News Alert - News Alert - News Vietnam Memorial in Washington DC Vandalized
The Vietnam War Memorial in Washington DC was vandalized Friday night, September 7th. There were no witnesses to the act of desecration which was discovered by a Park Service employee.
The vandal appears to have walked along the wall while squirting an oil based substance from a container on the lower sections of the panels. The liquid discolored the polished surface of the stone memorial and was absorbed into the porous stone where the names of our fallen heroes are etched into the wall.
Many names have become unreadable due to the absorbtion of the fluid.
On March 17th a large number of veterans and patriots gathered around the area of the Vietnam War Memorial to prevent just such a threatened desecration by the radical leftist demonstrators associated with the ANSWER coalition, SDS and the Black Cloc. An attempt was made to deface the memorial late that day but was stopped by National Park Police with several radicals arrested.
No radical group has stepped forward yet to claim responsibility for this outrage to the memory of our veterans. It is unlikely any will.

It is so hard to believe that any American would desecrate our fallen soldiers. I know the Left is against the war on terror and they were against Nam, but civil protest is one thing. They cannot hate their fellow Americans that much. It has to be some group that is extremely radical, and there is no honor for their kind.

According to the report in the Daily Star, and despite the headline that the Daily Star used, the council have not banned St George's day. They have decided not to pay for a parade. This is a story about nothing.

Today, Republican candidate for president, Daniel Gilbert, called on the U.S. Congress to disqualify congressman Dennis Kucinich (D, OH), from serving in Congress, for giving aid and comfort to the enemy when he recently appeared on Syrian television. In an op-ed posted on www.wethepeopleforpresident.com, Gilbert said, "Kucinich consistently referred to the Iraq War as an 'occupation' that was 'dishonest' and responsible for the deaths of millions of Iraqis. He went so far as to call the War in Iraq a failure based on a lie."

That's going too far over the edge when they desecrate the Vietnam memorial. I would love to be the ones to catch them, I would make them eat the paint.

You're right that we may never know who did this. This is really pathetic and reminds me of the horrible protests by the left in the 60s and 70s. They really had no shame then, and have even less today.
This appeared to be highly suspicious:
"An Aug. 27 comment posted on the DC Indymedia Web site said that "if they [GOE] come to our march we will spray the wall." The comment was referring to an anti-war protest scheduled for Sept. 15. GOE has advertised that it will counter-protest."

How whacky is that?
I'm also troubled by our politicians who bad-mouth the United States on foreign soil. This guy should have known better:

More shame from the Left. (It goes on and on...)
"The sons of a first-term congresswoman and Milwaukee's former acting mayor were among five Democratic activists charged Monday with slashing the tires of vans rented by Republicans to drive voters and monitors to the polls on Election Day."

So it's okay when conservative radicals like Timothy McVeigh blow up buildings and kill innocent children but you start whining when liberal radicals scratch a memorial.

There are always a few people who do this kind of thing, and sometimes there's a political motivation, and sometimes it's just vandalism. As a cop, I'm sure you know this behavior is atypical of most adults, including "liberals".

So no one knows what group was behind this desecration, if any group was involved at all. Quit assuming, k?

How dare you accuse any group, left or right, without any evidence whatsoever.
Isn’t this just another example of unfounded hateful accusations against the left clogging up the Internet?

I'm a Liberal...my brother is a VietNam Veteran.
I detest whoever did this, Left or Right.
Please don't generalize, lest I put you in the same category as David Vitter, Senator Craig, Mark Foley and Ted Haggard.
