I am in complete disbelief that anyone is STILL conservative after the last 7 years. I do not understand what promotes this moronic, backwards thinking. Such thinking is how Rome and Greece fell into decay. trying to form everything into a neat, comprehensible little dogma pill for hyperactive children to swallow so they don't say things they shouldn't. bullying grown adults into clan-like thinking. Why would you promote this? and i'm not giving best answer to whoever agrees with me. i'm giving best answer to whoever can tell me how this happens.

I just read that the Judge narrowed the court order and told this pedophile that he has to stay at least 30 feet from anyplace chidren congregate. McClellen says that he just can't live anywhere so "Orwellian" and that it's "nightmarish" that they'd slap him with this order. Do you believe this guy? If anything's nightmarish, it's the thought of this creep hanging around your kids' schoolyards.

The reason I ask is because the current republican repsident bush has destroyed civil liberties and made the US simular to a police state where people are afraid to speak out against the curropt regime in office.

Do you think President Ron Paul will be different?

He's talking this week about "no more empty promises for New Orleans".. Ok.. seriously.. I know the area was devastated, and I know it wasn't handled perfectly.. but geez, how many millions and millions have to be thrown at the problem? People, corporations and other groups sent untold millions for the cause..How much more do they want????? And let's think about this.. alot more cash would have been available to rebuild and help needy families if so much hadn't been wasted in fraudulent claims....

I dislike Bush too, but people need to begin to realize that he is not the only screwup. It is his whole administration. He has Rice, Cheney, Wolfowitz, etc. They are all inadequate. Furthermore, he never got us into war because technically he can't. He had some power in doing so, but congress voted on it, democrats and republicans alike. He is not the only idiot out there, find the others to blame too!

What about the levels of devastation? Why hasn't the government done more to make sure that the victims of Katrina have a home? A FEMA trailer isn't a home. The majority of the workload is taken on by volenteers who sacrifice their time and effort to fix what the government should have done. Instead of pouring billions of dollars overseas, why can't we take a step back and look at our neighbors who are suffering right her in America and help them?

Meaning once Bush officially had "war powers" given to him by Congress (Republicans & Democrats) other than strangling Pelosi on the House floor, Bush could get away with almost anything he wanted to (especially with executive prilvilge too)?

And if that is true why do libs put so much of the blame on Bush & not their own Democrat Congress like Senator Hilary Clinton?

Clergy has been trained for over a year now, to use Romans 13, as a tool to control citizens into obeying the feds. However, it can't be interppreted as an unqualified loyalty.

The issue arose after WND reported on a gov. program to train members of the clergy to be used to quell dissent in the case of a "national emergency" or "disaster" (as deemed by Mr. B.)

Listening to phone calls, reading incoming and outgoing mail, hacking into private e-mail correspondance?

Are we heading down this very dangerous road of profiling again?

If you dissent from the government's line you will be investigated and possibly detained and/or arrested until months or years down the road someone like the ACLU steps up to defend you? Or until finally some of the people in Washington come to their senses again?

Anyone else have that 'through the looking glass' feeling the past 20 years or so? Like the status quo has been skewed?
