Great Article - it clarifies alot of conflict over god vs government. Would love to hear your comments/answers on this......
Clergy has been trained for over a year now, to use Romans 13, as a tool to control citizens into obeying the feds. However, it can't be interppreted as an unqualified loyalty.

The issue arose after WND reported on a gov. program to train members of the clergy to be used to quell dissent in the case of a "national emergency" or "disaster" (as deemed by Mr. B.)

Daniel 2:44 shows what God thinks about the governments of this corrupt world.
I will enjoying watching them fall.
Beautiful thing to see corruption humbled and eliminated.

If there is a conflict between the two then obey God first. He is all powerful and makes up the rules, absolutely. However, if there is no conflict, obeying Government is the appropiate thing to do, even when the law just supports "social norms"..... the proper way to change it is by voting. And hopefully, we can progress to a totally Free state where there is choice and there is no conflict with the Government's laws and God's laws. The only problem is: when there is a percieved victum through people's choices. Fundamentally, I believe in Choice and I believe in God.

Depends on where you live. In some countries, the entire government is run by their religious books. In non-religious governments, the church has no authority over the citizens. All government laws must be obeyed .
Why would the citizens of a country like America obey what's in the bible ? That would be assuming that all Americans are Christian. They're not.

The proper relationship between the people and the government is stated in the Declaration of Independance.

As for the clergy--this is a country of religgious freedom--whether Bush likes it or not.

We are called to obey the government until or unless it goes against the teachings of scripture and most governments do at some point. Christ is first ALWAYS!! Sometimes being a Christian means being 'unpatriotic' at times.

God always comes first but He also tells us we are to submit to our goverments and even slaves are to submit to their masters good or bad as this shows the world that Christians are of good character. Your link didn't work on my computer and I don't like WND.

One of God's ten commandment say - thou shall not kill. Our government orders you to kill and if you refuse, you will be court-martialed and jailed or worse even. So, you can safely assume our government does not believe in God but will order you to kill in the name of God. Another commandment, thou shall not use thy Lord's name in vain.

Jesus threw over the tables and tossed the moneychangers out of the temple. That was no act of civil obedience.
