Absolutely!!!! This had nothing to do with our safety!
I truly believe that in these days and time profiling non-americans living and entering our country should be practiced on strictly enforced guidlines.
This administration has been anything but conservative by its liberal attitude to the lives of our troops and the many innocent citizens who have suffered because of his reckless and selfish agenda!
Unfortunately for American politics, the republican party has been severely corrupted and is not what it once was. Most are ready to excuse blatant disregard for law and ethics to presreve loyalty to a party of war mongers and criminals!

The more politically correct we become the more rights we lose. As for the Patriot Act...if we are to have open borders, we all have to suffer the consequences for safety. This has been life since the beginning of time. Eve messed up and gave Adam the fruit...he chose to take it and you know what the consequences of those actions got us.
I am all for closing the borders and deporting everyone not legal. Then we can get rid of the Patriot Act.

The Patriot Act and others like the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) get enacted into law because legislators and constituents combined are not reading the fine print. These bills get passed with all sorts of language that literally take your rights away. This sort of thing would cease if people got re-engaged with their local elected officials and educated themselves on the legislation being drafted. But as long as we continue to turn a blind eye to the political process, it will be business as usual.

By convincing Americans that their ability to survive, depended on the legislation.
ps: Intelligence was able to do their job previous to the Patriot Act; yet, they did not act within the job description, and then required the legislation--secondary, it violate American rights. BTW; this is a domestic issue, it does not divide the country when discussed--it is patriotism in action.

You are so right. My dad who considers himself more of a Republican despises Bush. He has created more government not less.

Bush isn't a Republican as Hilary isn't a Democrat. We would be better off if we had our real two party's again.

What rights have been lost to you or anyone you know due to the PA?
Anyone?
It gets the government agencies to talk to each other and share data, so we'll be safer.
Oh yeah, that's a big problem!!
