An educated mass is an informed mass. If the masses are truly informed, it will mean the end to the corruption being perpetuated by the current administration.

Are they afraid of education or are they afraid of over doing public education?

I don't believe they're very fond of using such a large portion of our budget solely on education, especially when so many American teens don't take it seriousely. As far as those who do, funding isn't always looked upon as the solution to improving our public schools. Many people seem to forget that the cheap old tactics of having a teacher lecture and the students research on their own seems to be boring, yet just as effective. In fact, that's how college works.

Depriving public schools of healthy funding has a cpnsequence, but so does spoiling them. It's time to stop waisting money on things like TV's for morning announcements and maybe use the saved money for an eliminated, though essential course.

Fiscal efficiency.

I can't speak for the mindless ones...and I'm sure there are a few just like in any group...but we intelligent NeoCons embrace education. What would make you think otherwise?

Yea, I guess thats why republican presidents increase Education funding more than democratic presidents do.

Or why the last time America had a democratic president and a democratic Congress, they cut education funding 16%.

Reagan: Education funding increased 42.8%
Bush: Education funding increased 60%
Clinton: Education funding increased 31%
Bush: Education funding increased 59%

Facts don't lie.

Your question is inflammatory and pointless. What is a NeoCon? How are you so sure that they are mindless? What part of education specifically do they fear? Why don't you educate yourself and then come back?

Because a well-cared for and educated populace is a democratic and equal one. such a society would make it no longer possible for them to be in power. so they abuse the power they are granted to make sure that they keep it. education also makes people ask questions, which leads to individuality. when people are individuals they are no longer predictable past a certain range and thus are no longer under control.

I don't know. Why is the NEA afraid to actually educate people? Education is power.

Because to advance education would mean slowing down progress for business and war, the only thing those heartless bastards care about

That's because education is power. People who are well educated don't accept opinions at face value and will question everything they're told. It's much easier to control people who are uneducated. That's why those who crave power fear those who know their true motives and will try to silence them.

Interesting then that, according to exit polls, having higher education makes you more likely to vote republican.

But it's ok, you can always take comfort in the fact that democrat voters have 3 times the felony conviction rate.
