I could choke on the number of times that the Bush family has mumbled about giving power back to the states...

Well how do they think Congress got there?

Maybe they are aliens from another planet that is ruled by Hillary Clinton and CNN... that must be it...

It couldn't possibly be that the states elected officials that represent what they want...

No, if you listen to Faux News, then congress is just a bunch of runaway anti-war liberals who landed in washington while they were busy helping Al Qeda...

Living in the Northeast, I have become frsutrated by the great abundance of extreme liberals and communists up here and the crappy weather we get. I have even seen some people wear Che Guevara shirts up here, which crossed the line. I am planning on moving to Virginia or North Carolina, but I am not sure if it is any better down there. I doubt there are many communists and liberals down there, at least.

Let's say you want to keep your Private Insurance. You could choose to "opt out" of the Universal Health Care and go with whatever provider you wished. Those of us who want government coverage can remain in the federal system. If you opt out, of course, no HC tax is take from you, and you could invest in a tax free HSA (Health Savings Account) to cover any premiums ect.
The Universal Health Care insured pool would be smaller, but so would the cost associated with maintaining it, as well as payouts.

I just had a previous questioned answered with a question, "Why don't you ask President Bush why he would send millions to Iraqi citizens while allowing US citizens to starve in the streets?". Is this the biggest load of crap ever written? I work in poor neighborhoods loaded with "homeless" people. The government provides homeless shelters and government housing, emergency rooms are required by law to treat anybody who goes to them, and non-profit organizations actually pick up people from shelters and drive them to street corners to beg for money. How long do you think it has been since someone actually starved to death, and I mean died due to not being able to eat, in the United States of America?

Nothing from them would surprise me anymore . So I won't be surprised if they do , but I think the vote count will change in favor of support for this war . BTW , the Top Secret briefings were designed to allow Senators and Congressmen to hear some things they do not know , and to allow them to ask questions . Initial reports estimated that maybe only 200 were in attendance , but now they're saying that the number is more like 86 !!
I'm gonna check and see if my representatives attended . . . . will you ?

Wanna friendly bet ? Mark this question in preparation for the next withdrawal proposal , and we'll see which way the next vote goes !!

I mean this as a serious question, I don't say impeachment lightly. I believe, as many other Americans do as well, that Bush and Cheney are guilty of criminal acts. As this is not meant to be a rant, I only name a few. The illegal rounding up of thousands of law abiding Americans after September 11th. Illegal wire taps placed on Americans in violation of the fourth amendment. Violation of Jose Padilla's sixth amendment rights. So called 'illegal combatants' held in violation of the Geneva Conventions. There are many more. I have, again, not lightly, come to the conclusion that their crimes require full testimony to the American people. My question is this: Is it possible to build a respected movement, one that is main stream (think TODAY show) and made up of Americans on both side of the political spectrum, whose goal is to get both the House and Senate to impeach Bush and Cheney for these and other crimes? Why or why not? Please, no rants. This is meant as a serious question. Thanks.

It's hard to say exactly when the Democrats decisively left the reservation, for the parallel universe that exists only in their own imaginations.

Liberals have always loved conspiracy theories because raising the specter of foul play and dirty tricks is an easy and convenient justification for ignoring their own political and policy failures. i. e Bush wins in 2004 - No DIEBOLD stole the election .

During the 1980 election, Democrats claimed that Ronald Reagan made a secret pact with Iranian fundamentalists, in order to prolong the hostage crisis and cause Jimmy Carter's support to further hemorrhage.

Then there are the persistent conspiracy theories that the CIA or Pentagon generals were responsible for President John Kennedy's assassination.

Hillary has gone public with her claim that a "vast right-wing conspiracy" is at work in America.

By 2000, they had Florida to prattle about, and then September 11.

That americans can use a gun for ANY purpose than to organize and fight in a militia? Where does it say that you can protect your property from criminals? IF you believe the SCOTUS should strictly construct what the framers of the constitution meant, would you have to turn in your guns? I asked a question about arming yourself against the government, and nobody could come up with a single precedence, yet hundreds of thousands of guns are owned.

What about in the minds of the Arab people?

2007-07-19 03:06:26 · 18 answers · asked by Anonymous

"The other day I was reading Newsweek magazine and came
across some Poll data I found rather hard to believe.

It must be true given the source, right?

The Newsweek poll alleges that 67 percent of Americans are unhappy With
the direction the country is headed and 69 percent of the country Is unhappy
with the performance of the president.

In essence 2/3s of the citizenry just ain't happy and want a change.

So being the knuckle dragger I am, I started thinking, ''What we are So unhappy about?''

Is it that we have electricity and running water 24 hours a day, 7 Days a week?

Is our unhappiness the result of having air conditioning in the summer and heating in the winter?

Could it be that 95.4 percent of these unhappy folks have a job?

Maybe it is the ability to walk into a grocery store at any time and see more food in moments than Darfur has seen in the last year?

Maybe it is the ability to drive from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean without having to present identification papers as we move through each state?

Or possibly the hundreds of clean and safe motels we would find along the way that can provide temporary shelter?

I guess having thousands of restaurants with varying cuisine from around the world is just not good enough.

Or could it be that when we wreck our car, emergency workers show up and provide services to help all and even send a helicopter to take you to the hospital.

Perhaps you are one of the 70 percent of Americans who own a home.

You may be upset with knowing that in the unfortunate case of a Fire, a group of trained firefighters will appear in moments and use top notch equipment to extinguish the flames thus saving you, your family and
your belongings.

Or if, while at home watching one of your many flat screen TVs, a Burglar or prowler intrudes , an officer equipped with a gun and a Bullet-proof vest will come to defend you and your family against Attack or loss.

This all in the backdrop of a neighborhood free of bombs or militias raping and pillaging the residents.

Neighborhoods where 90 percent of teenagers own cell phones and computers.

How about the complete religious, social and political freedoms we enjoy that are the envy of everyone in the world?

Maybe that is what has 67 percent of you folks unhappy.

Fact is, we are the largest group of ungrateful, spoiled brats the World has ever seen.

No wonder the world loves the U.S. , yet has a great disdain for its citizens.

They see us for what we are.

The most blessed people in the world who do nothing but complain about what we don't have, and what we hate about the country instead of thanking the good Lord we live here.

I know, I know. What about the president who took us into war and has no plan to get us out?

The president who has a measly 31 percent approval rating?

Is this the same president who guided the nation in the dark days after 9/11?

The president that cut taxes to bring an economy out of recession?

Could this be the same guy who has been Called every name in the book for succeeding in keeping all the
Spoiled ungrateful brats safe from terrorist attacks?

The commander in chief of an all-volunteer army that is out there defending you and me?

Did you hear how bad the President is on the news or talk show?

Did this news affect you so much, make you so Unhappy you couldn't take a look around for yourself and see all the Good things and be glad?

Think about it......are you upset at the President because he actually caused you personal pain OR is it because the "Media" told you he was failing to kiss your sorry ungrateful behind every day.

Make no mistake about it.

The troops in Iraq and Afghanistan have volunteered to serve, and in many cases may have died for your freedom.

There is currently no draft in this country.

They didn't have to go.

They are able to refuse to go and end up with either a ''general'' Discharge, an ''other than honorable'' discharge or, worst case Scenario, a ''dishonorable'' discharge after a few days in the brig.

So why then the flat-out discontentment in the minds of 69 percent of Americans?

Say what you want but I blame it on the media.

If it bleeds it leads and they specialize in bad news.

Everybody will watch a car crash with blood and guts.

How many will watch kids selling lemonade at the corner?

The media knows this and media outlets are For-profit corporations.

They offer what sells , and when criticized, try to defend their actions by "justifying" them in one way or another.

Just ask why they tried to allow a murderer like O.J. Simpson to write a book about how he didn't kill his wife, but if he did he would have done it this way......Insane!

Stop buying the negativism you are fed everyday by the media.

Shut off the TV, burn Newsweek, and use the New York Times for the bottom of your bird cage.

Then start being grateful for all we have as a country.

There is exponentially more good than bad.

We are among the most blessed people on Earth and should thank God several times a day, or at least be thankful and appreciative."

"With hurricanes, tornados, fires out of control, mud slides, flooding, severe thunderstorms tearing up the country from one end to another, and with the threat of bird flu and terrorist attacks, "Are we sure this is a good time to take God out of the Pledge of Allegiance?"

How many times has a citizen actually used a gun against a government official and been protected by the constitution? And in what circumstance do you think that the second amendment could be used and you would be protected? I am just trying to imagine what scenario would occur where you could use your weapon against the government and be protected by the second.

As of now there isn't anyone walking on this great planet who has an airtight solution . All of the fairly decent solutions that have been proposed would also require many , many , years. . . . decades or even generations . And this writer thinks that we don't have the privilege or convenience of 'decades or generations' before Radical Islamists actually succeed at destroying our great country. . . and others . Not enough other countries are doing their part and this problem is so far-reaching and worldwide that we alone cannot do it ourselves . Securing our borders would be great , but don't fool yourself into thinking that would be an 'airtight' solution . Any well-trained military man knows that it wouldn't be all that difficult to circumvent so-called 'secure' borders .

The Bible speaks of times like these and I'm just wondering how many people are aware that the Anti-Christ is said to be the 'one' with the 'solution' ??.... and many will follow and believe ?
Think folks .
