It's hard to say exactly when the Democrats decisively left the reservation, for the parallel universe that exists only in their own imaginations.

Liberals have always loved conspiracy theories because raising the specter of foul play and dirty tricks is an easy and convenient justification for ignoring their own political and policy failures. i. e Bush wins in 2004 - No DIEBOLD stole the election .

During the 1980 election, Democrats claimed that Ronald Reagan made a secret pact with Iranian fundamentalists, in order to prolong the hostage crisis and cause Jimmy Carter's support to further hemorrhage.

Then there are the persistent conspiracy theories that the CIA or Pentagon generals were responsible for President John Kennedy's assassination.

Hillary has gone public with her claim that a "vast right-wing conspiracy" is at work in America.

By 2000, they had Florida to prattle about, and then September 11.

The 9-11 terror attack threw the liberal conspiracy machine into high gear. The final death toll hadn't been confirmed before rumors began that President George W. Bush had advance knowledge of the attacks.

Howard Dean took the story mainstream by declaring, "The most interesting theory that I have heard so far is that (President Bush) was warned ahead of time by the Saudis."

Operation Iraqi Freedom has likewise provided grist for liberal conspiracy stories. Sen. Teddy Kennedy, D-Mass., declared that the whole war was a "fraud made up in Texas."

The left feeds on feeling's and the right use thought. The left wishes the Easter bunny was still around. The right was the one that put the money under the pillow. The left wants to start new religions like global warming SO they can sleep at night by telling them elves bed time stories that they care. The right goes to sleep trying to think who they can no better the next day. The left is afraid to stand up for any thing and be different by being original and so they attack in packs based on their fears. The right will stand alone and face the hate put out by the left and not care if they like them or not.Exception here the politicians in DC there is a procedure performed to them when they take oath and forget that the people who put them there still have their back bones.

Ok, so "Liberals have always loved conspiracy theories because raising the specter of foul play and dirty tricks is an easy and convenient justification for ignoring their own political and policy failures."

You seem to have already answered your rant, er, I mean, "question."

You also seem to think that all "liberals" agree with the above statements, which is a little like saying all conservatives agree with Pat Robertson--not true in either case by a long shot.

Why don't you try addressing one issue at a time and stimulate some real political debate that might allow some reconciliation--or at least understanding--among the political ideologies? Making these broad over-generalizations such as you are (and some libs on this site as well), Coulter-style, only serves to add fuel to a fire that is already too bright.

Your government killed 4M people in Viet Nam, close to a Million in Iraq. Is that a conspiracy theory? The heads of the government all come from corporations and defend corporate interests to keep wages down and deprive the population of education and health care. Is that a conspiracy? The corporations control the media and brainwash the population. Where are the WMD's?

Your government lies and agitprop ghostwriters like Deadmarxist spew fantasies about evil communism. And you believe them. That is why the US has no labor rights while in France five weeks vacation is mandatory for all workers. In latin america we even have a government mandated nap. Are you better off for working more? not really, US people live less than Europeans and about the same as Cubans.

Anti-Communism is the elite brainwashing of the poor. All the reasons given against communism are ugly lies.... how can it be that socialism both failed and was defeated? which is it? was communism a strong system destroyed by Reagan? or was it a weak system which crumbled under its own weight? No agreement?

If communism is so week and unpopular, why did the US spend 50 years killing its millions of followers?

Don't believe the lies of the sociopaths. They lied about WMD's, they lied about Tonkin, about the Civil War, they lied about communism.

I am a liberal and I don't believe in conspiracies. Speculating is good, but facts are always better. I like to question to what is being told to me (even if it's from fellow liberals) and I'm sorry if I don't automatically believe what the government is saying. That is not being anti-American, but rather that is being smart. I believe that should by an American duty, which is to question and investigate what our government is doing and not just blindly believing what they are saying.

So if you find out the truth about the U.S. government then you would find that they have ruined countries, brainwashed Americans into believing that their government is perfect, killed millions of innocent people, created and supported terrorists and brutal dictators all in the name of democracy, money and capitalism.

The fact is that conspiracies do happen all the time...

...and the fact is, that republicans have been caught and prosecuted, for being involved in these conspiracies, for decades and decades.

Did daddy help you spell the big words in your rant?

"Sen. Teddy Kennedy, D-Mass., declared that the whole war was a "fraud made up in Texas.""

Thank you for posting this.

It's like a breath of fresh air to read the truth once in awhile.

Since you are pro-war, why not get the guts to go and enlist so you can support the war you so strongly believe in?

They do take females now, you know?

Republicans made conspiracy theories about Clinton and Democrats made conspiracy theories about Bush. It all comes down to what party the President is a part of.

Bush lied about WMD's in Iraq. His supporters have made a fortune on the war.

Conspiracy theory ?????

On August sixth, 2001 the president was given an intelligence briefing titled "Al Qaida Determined to Attack in the United States" . Proof of fore-knowledge? No. Evidence that they should have done more than they did? Hell yes.
