If a zygote is *life* after a normal intercourse....what makes *unlife* in cases of rape, incest etc?

Their NOT pro-life if they think it's ok in rape cases. I'm pro-life and am 100% against abortion in ANY case regardless if its from rape. That innocent baby can be their light and hope through it all

It's not a black or white issue. Pro-lifers are against women making the choice to end a life simply because they don't want it and it's an inconvenience. What you are referring to is a crime which involves trauma and a victim. There are issues involved relating to the traumatization of the victim and further emotional damage, not to mention in the case of incest birth defects and other genetic deformities.

Nothing makes a life "unlife" as you put it but nothing in life is as simple as you are trying to make either. Children barely into puberty are raped and many of them are not capable of dealing with a pregnancy. Rape can be tremendously violent and requiring women to undergo further suffering and humiliation is cruel. This is by far very different than women that use abortion clinics as a revolving door. It is not meant to be a form of birth control but can rather be a kindness to a victim.

It's really a shame that people are so narrow minded and shallow that they can't see this but would rather stand for nothing and bash those that have compassion. Trying to insinuate that pro-lifers are hypocrites because they may or may not support the death penalty is rediculous. That is a COMPLETELY different issue. If anyone has trouble distinguishing between the two then I feel sorry for you.

I'm not sure why people think the way they do. Everyone has their own feelings. I am very much pro-life. The only exception I would even consider is when the mother's life is in danger. In all other circumstances I believe adoption should be considered. But, thank goodness, I've never been in the situation where I've had to make that decision (rape, incest, etc.). Only as a teenage mom, and I chose to keep my daughter and I'm so thankful I did. She's 21 and expecting her 2nd child.

generally conversing, it incredibly isn't any longer. in case you oppose abortion thinking the actuality that ending existence is incorrect no be counted what, then the way of concept is beside the point. whether, a lot of human beings oppose abortion thinking the actuality that picking to abort is averting duty. in case you study most of the solutions on your question, you will see it incredibly is a substantial element for a super number of responders. In those situations, they may be professional-existence while somebody gets pregnant as a effect of consensual intercourse yet no longer contained in the progression of rape. those absolutely everyone seems to be in many situations inconsistent, too, because of the fact they insist that in case you do no longer want to enhance this newborn, you ought to provide it up for adoption. To me that sounds like averting duty besides . . . the professional-selection stream has inconsistencies, too. some human beings argue that abortion is advantageous in case you do it "early sufficient," yet after that they get queasy. maximum are supportive of high school women having get admission to to the technique, yet are much less information while she's 30 years previous and married. To me, there are in simple terms 3 consistent positions: a million. on no account abort. homicide is incorrect no be counted what the circumstances are. 2. Abortion and adoption are the two incorrect except the being pregnant is a effect of rape. advance up and settle for duty on your strikes. 3. no longer all human existence is of equivalent value. Abortion is a decision to be made by a woman and her wellbeing care professional, and her motives for desirous to terminate are beside the point.

I don't necessarily agree with abortion, but I'm pro choice. Much like the first answerer accused the pro choicers of locking on to that rape example, far too many of them lock on to that image of some female using abortions as a regular means of birth control. How conveniently they forget the gray area in between.

Ultimately it is the choice of the person. If you think it's a life that needs protecting, prove it by signing up as a foster parent, adopting kids from orphanages, and taking care of the ones already on this planet that have little to no chance at a good life. Deal with the problem first hand, then you can worry about flooding even more children onto the planet in such conditions. Until then, leave the decision to the person that is already dealing with it first hand.

I'm also pro death penalty, but only in cases that can be proven with concrete evidence. Anyone sentenced on hearsay shouldn't be killed.

I think that it's hard to label yourself entirely pro-life or pro-choice. There are many shades of grey in between. Pro-life activists often think of pro-choice advocates as being 'pro-abortion'. It's not that pro-choice people want to see abortions happen, they just feel that it's a woman's right to have that choice.

This is where the separation of church and state has become really muddled. Many times it's a church that determines what is a life and what isn't and that becomes part of the argument when it comes to abortion issues. I'm a Christian, but I still want to have the choice one way or another. I don't want some balding, overweight, aging male saying what I can or cannot do to my body.

But what does that have to do with your question? I guess I need to get off my soap box. I think that they want to make themselves feel better by going into the grey area of the issue but really all they're doing is making themselves look like morons.

Your question is absolutely right on and reflects your desire for consistency and truth. The no-abortionists who will turn around and say, well its ok if it was a rape, are still killing an innocent child (the result of the rape). It makes no sense to have a position that you do not want innocents killed during abortion, but it is ok with incest, rape etc.
Be interesting to see the answers to your question.

You know if something terrible like this really happened to you instead of just arguing the point I wonder if you would feel the same? How dare you judge others who may find themselves in that nightmare while you sit up in your perfect little world. You can't possible know what these girls and women have suffered.

I don't know but I think rape or not, it should be a womans right to choose, can you imagine how many crack head kids would be running around because there mother was high when she got prego, then probably didn't realise it for 2 mnths and kept getting high while pregnant!? Who would want a child as a consequence of rape, that's a traumatic incident and to be reminded daily when you look at your child how they got here... i'm sure there would be some sort of resent towards that child also, opening doors for child abuse!

Isn't Pro-Life Supposed to believe in no abortion's period. Life starts at the of conception. And with saying that, I say they should put the baby's up for adoption!

Because in those cases the women really didn't have a choice to get pregnant or not. There is a big difference in that and making the choice to screw without protection and then killing your kid. Not all of us pro life people are radicals.
