Congress's approval ratings hover at or near an all time low. Is it because opposition to the war is blocked by the Republicans?

At least the Democrats a listening to the people! We need to make our voices heard! The Democrats haven't gotten anywhere. We need to help Washington make a decision by voicing our concerns. We need to stop worrying about being called names like "Traitor" if we speak out against this war! This war needs to come to a close! To many of our young are dying!

I understand the "slumber party" was an exercise to show who is actually blocking bringing home the troops. But what about the fact that democrats did run on a platform of bringing home the troops, and then they have not? What about the fact that when Congress voted on funding for the troops, they gave in to Bush on a deadline for bringing home the troops being included in that bill? And why? I feel like Bush said - "Well, you can include a deadline for troop withdrawl, but I'll just veto it" -- and Congress gave in, because they didn't want to look like the bad guys by not giving the funding to support our troops. I admit they were in a tough spot, so I get the point of the overnight vote, but what are the tangible results?

Both Parties are wrong. However what do you expect their interests are not for the american public, I am sure a lot of republicans have somethings in Halliburton as well as Democrats are just looking to kiss the rumps of the public not because they want to because they feel they have too.

It's because the war is still going on...lay the blame on whoever you want, but the numbers will continue to be low until the war changes direction. I think both parties are to blame...Republicans for blocking legislation and Democrats for not being tough about calling them out on it.

The point of the exercise was to let the American public actually see who is obstructing bringing the troops home and ending the fiasco in Iraq. On that one point alone, regardless of whether the vote was won or not, was why it was done. The result was a foregone conclusion because of the obstructionism of the Republicans. It served its purpose very well.

I doubt this is the reason for the low approval ratings. It was a cynical exercise by the Democrats, because, Reid knew he did not have enough votes to over ride a promised Presidential veto.

Democrats are flipflopping as always.

They change their views of everything based on the Polls. they never think of what the outcome would be if we withdraw the troops. Democrats think with the Emotions and Imaginations.

Curious, the democrats have never tried to end the war. They continue to vote for it, campaign against it, and then propose Non-Binding resolution. Whatever those are.

the dems took over congress with a list of promises, they knew they could not deliver and nothing meaningfull has gotten done.
Now,nobody has a good word for congress and that's good, maybe we can get some new blood and retire these old windbags.

When will people learn, you can NOT end a war just because you want to end a war, sitting safe at home in the US having an all night slumber party, like spoilt brats.

There is only two ways to end a war, WIN it or LOSE it, if democrats get there way we LOSE it, if Republicans get their way we WIN, its that simple
