Heh, be careful not to flirt with Goldstein, MINITRUTH is watching.
Ignorance is Strength. War is Peace.
Does anyone still believe that a state which holds a race to be the only legitimate rulers of a land and that has evicted or imprisoned the prior residents of that land has any claim to righteousness? I say withdraw all support from Israel until it absorbs the Palestinian and Bedouin populations displaced since 1948 into a democratic multi-national state. If Israel wants peace it ought to observe international law, not break the law with the blind support of the US. If Israel is truly threatened by its neighbors, the international community should step in, if Israel threatens its neighbors, the international community should step in. Otherwise, the area should be left to its own devices so that it develops organically into what the people want it to be.
What do the people of the region want their countries to be? Like it or not, religiously guided democracies will rise in the M.E. and probably form flexible rival blocks. Why does the US not want this? The alliance of oil producing countries places the price of the most desired commodity in the world in the hands of third worlders.
Whitey don't want that. So the Palestinian question really comes down to the US having an inlet into an oil rich region. Israel allowing itself to be prostituted in this way in exchange for a blank check on its expansion and its treatment of the original population.
Oops, I hear the sirens now. I must have committed a thoughtcrime.

There never has been such a nation as Palestine. The British gave the Mandate to Israel. Then everybody else declared war on them simply because they were Jews. So Israel said, "Fine then, you wanna be jackasses, go ahead. We're not giving you your land back." And Israel still gave it all back. The Sinai Peninsula, the Gaza Strip, the West Bank....they gave it all back to them for peace. And they still can't get it.

No. Israel should have never wiped Palestine off the map and I would have gladly supported Israel being built into the state of Arizona, where the climate is similar and there is a lot of room to build, and annexing Puerto Rico, so we still have 50 states, because look at what the colonization of Palestine has done in the last 50 years. Countless battles and several big wars which could have all been prevented.

No. The Palestinians were and are due the same consideration and respect as human beings that Israelis are. These groups need to work things out, and FAST. They both have legitimate claims and aims and they need to find a way to co-exist peacefully. War only makes you poor. These people could be living peacefully, side by side, and prospering. Ideally some beautiful day Israelis and Palestinians will embrace as brothers--as the brothers they are in reality. I hope God (or Allah) enlightens all in this matter.

They did not wipe Palestine off the map. Israel is only temporarily occupying Palestine. I propose a United Israel and Palestine governed by the UN.

Since there never was an independent state called Palestine, your question is moot since there was never a Palestine to do wiping off that map with.
As is the case, there was a two state solution offered in 1948 that would have resulted in an independent Arab state called Palestine alongside a Jewish state. But the Arabs were against it. By that logic, one can argue that it was the Arabs "who wiped Palestine off the map" if by "wiping off the map" you mean "caused it to not come into existence".

Israel has not done so, but if they did they would be justified. Remember Black September when Jordan expelled the "palestinians" because they were a bunch of terrorists who refused toi live in peace even with fellow arabs?
Israel has been too nice, so far...

Since you know this never happened, you're just trying to post inflammatory questions.
Both Palestinians and Jews have claims on the land, and both are entitled to a homeland where they can be safe. Under the partition plan in 1948, this happened - it was the surrounding Arab nations who rejected it and demanded that all the Muslims living in the area left so that they could then return and attack - which they then did. Israel was only hours old when she had to defend herself against several Arab armies. But as they were badly organised, Israel held her own.
Naturally any land she got during this war she kept - what sane country on this planet would return land to an enemy that was dedicated to destroying it???
You should also recall that until 1967 - some two decades AFTER Israel was established, there was no such thing as the 'Palestinian people' as we know them today. They were referred to, both by themselves and others, as 'Arabs'.
Not one Arab country, though, has offered the Palestinians a home or any help, other than arming them. It's Israel which has built schools and universities, and hospitals, for the Palestinians.
And it's also FACT that in the Koran, Jerusalem is not mentioned ONCE. Muslims face Mecca when they pray.

no... because it's the U.N's fault that Israel even exists today. After World War II, the UN got together and said, "lets put all the jewish people... HERE" and that pissed off the people of palestine as it was they're home and they were forcefully removed. War has raged that part of the world since the crusades and the UN should not have put them anywhere. Who knows what would have happened. we may have already had peace in the middle east if it weren't for the UN. so no, israel is not justified, but palestine is not justified in their actions either. Neither one should be fighting each other.

No, I don't think it was fair to colonize land that belonged to the Palestinians in the first place.
But it's too late to change things now.... the two peoples will have to learn to co-exist with each other in peace. There should be a bi-national secular state in place of Israel and Palestine, with no religious or racial preferences whatsoever.
