So generally, republicans are known as conservatives, so explain this to me:

Why is it that since the Republicans had control of the White House and Congress for so long, actually spent us into a deficit after a democratic president left office with a surplus? High federal spending isn't my idea of conservative.

They say "the wealth will be concentrated in fewer and fewer hands" and sometimes this is true and sometimes this isn't true but what's always true is "the wealth" keeps growing - - - you might go from 100 people 90 of whom have 5 each and 10 of whom have 100 each to 110 people 80 of whom have 10 each, 20 of whom have 150 each and 10 of whom have 1000 each - - "the wealth" is more concentrated but it's not that there is a fixed pie that is just sliced differently, there's just a much bigger pie and everyone's slice is bigger than it used to be even if for some it is smaller relative to the whole.

In absolute terms the freer the economy the more wealth and income per capita and the greater economic mobility. Also the differences among large groups tend to correlate to age - - the "income gap" for example is largely between baby boomers and Gen-Xers / Gen-Yers and less among permanent classes than was the case when tax rates were much higher.

Or do you vote according to what your friends and family are doing?

Do you really read and listen to the issues?

Or are you just trying to keep a certain party in and is blind to what they really stand for?

How do you come to that point of pulling the lever for a certain person?

Iraq is going down the crapper and will spin into total anarchy when we leave anyway, so why not just get out now and save our troops and their families all this pain?

Someone here posted a question asking why Democrats degraded rich people. He then argued that making money and striving for success were good things. He also asked why we wanted to be "average".

Excuse me, but I have nothing against making money. In fact, I'm all for striving for money and success as long as it's all done ethically. Not only that, but would a person who places value on things other than money, success, and material possessions be considered BELOW AVERAGE? Perhaps some people place value on other things. Perhaps they place more value on things like personal fulfillment and making a valuable contribution to society. Not only that, but the mere implication that anyone who isn't wealthy is below average is an insult to MOST Americans. Sure, most Americans work for a living, but most of them certainly don't get rich. However, in my opinion, as long as you do good, honest work, you're ABOVE average, even if you don't get rich.

1.Why is the Democratic Congress not getting rid of Bush's abstinence only family planning program?
Why are Democrats still funding it?

2. Why is the Democratic Congress increasing Title X abstinence-only family planning funding by $ 27 million
to $ 140 million
(A bigger increase than the Republicans ever gave this flawed waste of money program)

Will liberals be blamed for this too?

I constantly hear liberals talk about their 9/11 conspiracy theories. They make it sound like the JFK assassination. I really believe that in 20 years people will blame Bush more than Muslim terrorists for killing thousands of Americans. Why do liberal crazies do this? Can't they rationally debate an issue without trying to smear my President that way? If they don't like his politics, fine. No problem. But there is a line that one should not cross. I've never suggested that Bill Clinton personally killed our sailors in the USS Cole attack. I've never said that Clinton was behind the first WTC attack. I've never heard of any conservative claim that Clinton knew ahead of time or caused any of the dozen terrorist attacks against Americans under his watch. Yet, liberals do that to Bush. Do they really think that if they blame Bush enough and call him a murderer often enough I will eventually believe it?

WASHINGTON - President Bush says polls don't matter to him, but his slumping popularity appears to be influencing fellow Republicans in a way that hurts — money. Bush's yearly fundraising dinner for Republican congressional candidates on Wednesday generated $15.4 million — no small amount, but almost half as much as the $27 million the event brought in last year. Bush raised $23 million at the same dinners in 2005 and 2004.

trying to clean up your mess miltarily. We always here about how the "crazy religious right" is dangerous. But they share the same type twisted degrading to some values. You would think the left would hate the radical muslims and the right wouyld align itself with them...

The same liberal issues that libs stand for like womens rights and porn and all the stuff that "conservative"countries like Iran resent, are the very reason they wan to kill us.
Hence the liberal America is what they hate and want to kill us over. So why do libs think they can befriend them and gain their trust?
They are attemping to kill us for the loose values that Libs traditionally stand for!!!

I have worked within the many organizations that claim their vision is helping people. And many times I would see people begin with a vision and then as they try to obtain it they get off base and begin to focus on the organization itself instead of the individuals they claim they are there to help. They start working on getting numbers instead of actually helping people.

Is this what happened to the democratic party.... because crippling a race of people is not helping in the least bit?
Shame on you!

Last time I checked the war was started while we had a republican congress and republican president. The Democratic congress has been in power for only 6 months, last time I checked the problems we are having in Iraq have started a long time ago, like 3 years ago. Also all of the planning for this war was done by the republican administration not by the far lefties that people love to blame. Even noted republicans like John McCain said the administration had done a horrible job in planning for this war. How is it the liberals fault?
