Should Gaza and West Bank be OFFICIALLY separated?

Right now on paper, Gaza and the West Bank are the same entity. In light of the fact that Hamas controls Gaza and Fatah controls the West Bank, would it make more sense to split the entity into 2...kinda like what was done between Pakistan and Bangladesh in the 1970s? (After all, in both cases, the 2 areas are separated geographically.)

At what tax bracket do we start paying for welfare?

Does someone who earns 30K or less a year even pay enough taxes to fix the roads they use, let alone pay for welfare? I read questions from young people who are just starting out in jobs...complaining about paying for welfare recipients, and I was wondering what the tax bracket for 'breaking even' is? How many rich people also pay OUR fair share of taxes? Should we make everyone pay equally? Or just welfare recipients?

Where does your tax money go?

I ask because so many people seem to think that we Dems get together and pool together all the tax money and then deposit it into our personal checking accounts.

Do you detect early stages of Surge Spin??? Something is not going as well as predicted. Finger pointing time.

A couple weeks ago it was Halliburton had not built the 22 Police Stations that the 23,000 Surgers would live in.

Then the no back ground check thing on the Iraqi Police came out. Seems at least 25% of the police were actually foreigh fighters.

Now we are hearing September is too soon. and the Blue Voice is saying "See I told you so"

It's always the troops that suffer with this political garbage.

Why didnt George W Bush read his dad's book?

Appart from the obvious joke about his reading age, George H W Bush wrote a book about why he didnt launch a full invasion of Iraq in 1991. You'll never guess what his reasons were.....bitter factional fighting........Iraq is not cut out for democracy.........no plausable replacement for Saddam...........not enough international consensus or UN mandate............would evolve into a nationa building quagmire. Net result= Bush is an complete bafoon.

Conservatives: What is your greatest fear of government?

Is it the threat to the holders of wealth, or is it the fear of liberalisms want to spread it around? You have the resourses to convey this message to poor people and now even some of those folks share this fear. How is that? Please no answers about freedom, it's not about that...or religion. Money talks and I just want to hear what it has to say... I mean, if gorvernment is so limited then who gets to pull the strings?

Now Bush plain lied,
Blair had a misguided policy of backing the US to the hilt, (I believe, sincerely), despite suspecting the Bush administration Lied,
The Iraqi people welcomed the removal of a psychopathic despot but were under prepared for the mismanagement and the chaos that would bring.....

Now who has benefited from this chaos?

Do all Republicans criticize higher learning, the media, and the government as being a liberal plot?

It sounds like the Limbaugh Hannity Coulter axis of propaganda dismisses anything but their own beliefs as beholden to "liberalism" decaying America. Anyone remember the McCarthy era?

Why can't certain conservatives here decide whether liberals are Communists or fascists?

Seriously! I have seen some conservatives here call liberals both fascists and Communists in one sentence! Apparently these folks don't know much about history, because if they did, they would know that the fascists were vehemently against the Communists and vice versa.

What should be done about the LAZY people who take advantage of hard-working American taxpayers?

I hear a lot of Y!A libs say 'Stop ranting and raving and find a solution!' Which is correct. I do want to find a solution.

But what? How can you possibly help someone that doesn't want to be helped?

Talk with them? Plead with them? Sure, these kids who are born to these lazy moochers are not at fault and should not be penalized for their parents mistakes. But where do we draw the line?

It is one thing when you have one kid that you are struggling to take care of, but what about when they keep having them one after another?

Forcing them to get sterilized violates their human rights....

Telling them to get a job and go to school is fine and dandy! But what if they don't want to do neither? THEN WHAT??

Fifteen years (1989 - 2004) I have spent living in the inner city. I saw them folks around doing nothing with brand new Jordans on their feet while their rent is only $15 thanks to section 8.

Does this not anger you?

What practices are you deeply morally opposed to, but would NOT want to make illegal?

On a somewhat related question, are there Supreme Court decisions for which you agree with the Court's reasoning and result, even though you wish the law as written were different? Or are there cases you disagree with the Court getting involved with, although if you could write the laws (as well as interpret them) you would "come out" the same place they did?

I'm thinking about abortion and other issues we've discussed. This question may be hard to follow. But give it a shot. thanks!
