I ask because so many people seem to think that we Dems get together and pool together all the tax money and then deposit it into our personal checking accounts.

I am so confused by your question? What taxed money are getting taxed a second time on? Ok so you mean like we pay income tax and then we pay sales tax. Gotcha. No neighter candidate will change that and don't believe anyone who says otherwise.

Good lord. I can't believe what people are saying. Entitlement programs make up a very small percentage of tax dollars. Just as salaries do.

Our tax money goes to support the government. Beyond that I really do not want to think about all the useless programs we the people pay for.

since im single, much of it comes back to me in terms of a refund during tax season.
but yea, id wager a bet the majority goes firstly to the military-industrial machine and secondly to social programs

Much of it is wasted on big government entitlement programs. If liberals like you get your way then big government will be wasting even more of my dollars.
