Here is the list or reasons that I have collected from Yahoo Answers:

A. Bush lied.
B. Bush was lied to.
C. To remove Saddam because we love Iraq and it’s people so much.
D. Iraq wanted to take our freedom
E. Economical reasons – oil, etc.
F. Strategic reasons – we want to advance and create bases in Middle East.
G. War on terror.
H. Because G W Bush is a Satan, he rigged 9/11 just so he can start the War.

And the list goes on forever. What is your opinion?

There are the original 3000 reasons...the lives lost in the
9-11 attack on our soil. Why are American's memories so short??
There are many other reasons...i.e. like the fact that you can go to bed at night in the US without worrying of a terrorist attack in your neighborhood or city.
You don't have to like war...I don't like war, but at least step back and look at why it is necessary. My son has done two tours in Iraq and I don't like him there, or any other mother's sons or daughters, but we have to defend the freedom and safety for our own country.
It's a good question...I hope you learn what the real answers are.

There are many reason. A major one that isn't spoken about is Israel. Radical Islam promises to destroy Israel and Israel is our only friend and the US has sworn to protect Israel forever. If the US did not have a permanant military presence in the Middle East, then Palestine, Syria, and Iran at least would start a war with Israel. This might still happen. Oh, and oil. Oil fuels the US economy and therefore the global economy. Without Middle East oil, our economy would be almost paralyzed.

Much of what you say has truth. If Bush was lied to then it was his responsibility to make sure he had the facts before invading and occupying a sovereign country. I believe it is for military strategic reasons. Iraq is a perfect place for a base. We had to remove Saddam because we knew he would never agree to a base. And he was a bit of a prick. The oil I'm sure plays a part. War on terror from what they have shown looks like BS to me. As far as him being Satan...I think he is just a pawn for The New World Order.

My list includes A, B, E, F, and a few you didn't mention.

One is that Saddamn had been taking Euros in payment for his oil, which is a direct threat to the American enonomy.

Another is that war is very profitable for those with vast forunes.

Another is that war abroad can help consolidate political power at home.

The last is simple arrogance mixed with ineptitude. I think they truly believed it was going to be quick and easy, and that we would be welcomed and rewarded by the grateful Iraqis.

All the above are a possible answer but only Bush knows for sure and he doesn't want us to know. Some President huh!! What ever happened to Osama the one that was supposed to have started all this?

E and F... no doubt...
Funny enough, the Realist consensus is that the war in Iraq is a setback to both objectives. DO read Blood for no Oil:

You would have to ask George Bush himself. I think he is the only one that knows the true reason. But I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't share it.

But out of your choices, A, E, and in PART, H (Bush is satan).

E.

The world needs stability in this oil-rich region, including the USA as we are currently not allowed to drill in our hoomeland. It would be nice if the rest of the world helped us out a little...
