You can only win a war if you have the support of the people in the country you are fighting.I believe thru past failed policy like not trying to work with saddams old party right after the initial conflict started is what is causing the civil war conditions.I do not believe there is a military solution any longer in Iraq the time has passed for that to happen. To many poor decisions by the administration has created distrust both in Iraq and at home.

It's a surge of blood, not unlike the Germans' attempt at the Battle of the Bulge, Dec 16, 1944, except this time we're the aggressor with dwindling supplies of money.

Just wait and watch. You'll see some NeoCon or RePub turd try to explain how American troops being essentially walking bullseyes in the middle of a near-eternal civil war...as a good thing...as a thing that somehow protects us Americans back home (what a joke).

You'll see, they'll blindly tow the Bush / Rush / Hannity / Cheney / Rove line. They always do, they always will. The current reality of Iraq has nothing to do with what comes out of their mouths.

What does an American Soldier have to do with a Sunni wanting to kill a Shiite and vise-versa. This has been going on for thousands of years, and it took a tyrant such as Saddam to squelch it, These people are going to continue killing one another whether we (USA) stay there or not, unless another Leader such as Saddam comes along, and uses measures that these morons understand..Anyone that believes a 19 year old GI with an automatic weapon is the answer is on the wrong medication...

Only a moron would think this "surge" was going to work. Face reality, Bush has always been a dismal failure. From 90+% approval and unity after 9/11 to extreme polarization and 30% approval post Iraq disaster. Just like Arbusto oil, Texas Rangers and terms as Texas Governor, total failures.

The violence is increasing, and the deaths are rising - a Pentagon report came out yesterday confirming it.

I would argue that the violence has increased. Us only controls one third of baghdad and the last three months have been the bloodiest on record.
