I have worked within the many organizations that claim their vision is helping people. And many times I would see people begin with a vision and then as they try to obtain it they get off base and begin to focus on the organization itself instead of the individuals they claim they are there to help. They start working on getting numbers instead of actually helping people.
Is this what happened to the democratic party.... because crippling a race of people is not helping in the least bit?

A person, that is so true.
I don't know one black person with an education that would want to take a job knowing that everyone thinking it was the result of affirmative action and not their own qualifications.

I agree. Handouts, affirmative action etc. sends African Americans the message that they cannot compete on an equal footing. That they are somehow inferior and can only make it in life if they are helped along. It is truly crippling. Let us all be equal before the law, no special treatment for a particular race.

Yes, the focus on helping poor people turns into a numbers game, while those heading the groups pocket more and more cash for their "philanthropic" efforts.
