INFORMATION

I am gay, white, 62 years of age, love foreign travel, against immigration but not a rascist, am part Catholic and part Moslem. I have a 21 year old American partner who, thankfully, is also gay and we are to have a Civil Partnership Cereemony on the 4th of August!.

I feel strongly about world issues. I want to be the centre of attention wherever I go (not true - prefer to take a back seat!) so maybe that would be my downfall!

I am not against heterosexuals - don't feel threatened by them in any shape or form and believe they should have the same rights as gays! Interpret that in whatever way you wish!

Made a comment the Bible is 80% on poverty...hmm what Bible is that? So if there going to quote Jesus in how he said Give to the Poor is that going to be thier reason for raising the hardworking americans taxes through the roof? Yes Jesus did come to the Poor, to give them hope and to ask people to give from there hearts, but I assume the demmies are going to spin Jesus's message that people do not have to be responsible at all and because Jesus said so, and the government should let them wallow...

I am a christian and I do give to other's in need from my heart not by force...

Maybe they should realize Jesus's message was one of forgiveness, hope for al who sin, and to have a giving heart by loving GOD not the Government. He also did NOT say by the way forget about the Ten Commandments they are no longer valid.
Thoughts?

We tear down the federal government as a subsidizing entity and rebuild it as an entity that protects the country from outside hostilities, enforces federal law as it relates to interstate, and enforces and protects essential rights of all its citizens (The Bill of Rights and so forth). A minimal flat tax is paid to the Federal Government and the three branches function the same way but with limits.

We return to states’ rights. States are responsible for the cultural type laws, taxes, subsidies etc etc.

So if Kansas sees it fit to pay no taxes, outlaw abortion, outlaw homosexual marriage, and teach creationism and the Ten Commandments they are welcome. If New York decides to pay taxes and subsidize their own Health Care plan, social security and education, teach evolution and history, allow abortions and homosexuals to marry, they are welcome to do so.

States would essentially be responsible for their own decisions and deal with the consequences.

Good Idea? Bad Idea?

The right wing radio talk show guys make a big deal over this, but in real life, does it make a big difference? Even when taxes went up to 90% no rich guy ever went financially belly up. Now the top tax rate is 25%, but that's not from the first dollar. The tax rate goes up in five stages. The first 15 grand is taxed at only 10%. Also, the tax rate is different for differnt forms of income. 'The rich' derive income more from investments than wage income. Capital gains taxes are lower than what they take out of your paycheck. Add in tax free bonds and the picuture changes. Wadda' 'ya think?

Fred Thompson describes himself as a Conservative. He has said Federalism is his guiding principle, a lodestar. "[It] provided a basis for a proper analysis of most issues: "Is this something government should be doing? If so, at what level of government?"
"Our government, under our Constitution, was established upon the principles of Federalism -- that the federal government would have limited enumerated powers and the rest would be left to the states. It not only prevented tyranny, it just made good sense. States become laboratories for democracy and experiment with different kinds of laws. One state might try one welfare reform approach, for example. Another state might try another approach. One would work and the other would not. The federal welfare reform law resulted from just this process."

we have liberals wanting vermont to secede from the nation, i think they should do it. its not an important state, and since theyre leftists, theyre just getting federal money from other states. it would save the other states money.
but could this also happen to the southwest US? more and more liberal voters are there, more hispanics are joining the military across the country trying act "patriotic", and La Raza is talking more about it and has increased membership. with a hispanic military, none of the soldiers would fight to prevent the secession. california doesnt even need the US. so i dont see anything that would prevent secession of the southwest if this amnesty bill is passed. anyone see anything that could prevent secession? i think we need another war with mexico, even perhaps a civil war. maybe we could BUY more of their land like we did last time...

The quran tells them if they win a war then they need to kill all of the followers to make an example out of them. Does that really sound like muslims are peaceful?

Source: Quran

If ye gain the mastery over them in war, disperse, with them, those who follow them, that they may remember.

If thou comest on them in the war, deal with them so as to strike fear in those who are behind them, that haply they may remember.

Therefore if you overtake them in fighting, then scatter by (making an example of) them those who are in their rear, that they may be mindful.

Play your silly little political games all you want , but don't waltz around our country saying that the war on terror is a 'bumper sticker' . Because it's not . And trying to diminish that reality is a set-up for disaster . Edwards support numbers fell 8% in just the last few weeks !! Why ? What happened in the last few weeks ? He made that comment , and more than once too .
Don't get me wrong , I 'm happy to see him drop like a rock , but still the fact remains .. . . . . .No American should be prancing about the country talking nonsense like that . Sure , he's got the right to be stupid , but we have the right to disagree with stupidity .

What do you think of Mr. John 'there is no war on terror' Edwards ?

It says the occupied can resist the occupiers by 'all means necessary'.....

This means ALL MEANS NECESSARY....

When you have an Army that is armed to the teeth, how can anyone complain when people strap bombs to themselves and sacrifice their lives for the freedom of their homeland......

Would you lie down and allow China to invade and occupy the USA..... or will you use 'all means necessary' to resist?

COME ON HONEST ANSWERS....only.
