First let's establish that what Foley did is repulsive and indefensible. Further if the Speaker knew and didn't take action he should also resign.

I see many people posting how bad all Republicans are based on the actions of a few. This rhetoric ranges from the mild to the absolutely outrageous. They believe this will surely swing the mid term election in their favor. Foley has resigned and the Speaker has called for a full investigation of the matter. My question is this. Has this scandal changed your opinion about whether or not you will vote for the Republicans in Novermber? If so why?

I am interested in honest, intelligent answers. This is not an invitation to bash the other side.

Do you know how easy it is to start up the draft? The Selective Service web site says: "A crisis occurs which requires more troops than the volunteer military can supply. Congress passes and the President signs legislation which starts a draft."

If it were true that the SS is a "fund" you pay into all your life which is what they say about old timers on golf courses pocketing their $2000 per month government paychecks, why is there a double standard for the thousands of dollars that generation X has already payed into and will continue to pay? Why are we less deserving of money we have 'payed into'. We got totally screwed this century, cost of living and other expenses, and the economy isn't anywhere near as easy as it was for WWII generation and even the boomers when they were first starting out.
Generation X is the first one that HAS to have a diploma to scrape by making any kind of living wage and won't even see retirement benefits that WE have supposedly WORKED for!
Why can't we get what we have earned, why are rich old people who were favored this entire century be more deserving? The future doesn't look as bright for X'ers as it was for everyone else.

Great story about Georgia Tech. liberals losing a suit because they were silencing opposing views.

So much for the liberal claim of upholding the Bill of Rights!

Why are they so opposed to it? I know some of you far left loonies will say well the poor, elderly and disabled won't be able to vote...
Back in reality, if you read the bill, if they can not afford the ID card the government will GIVE it to them

Democrats also say it will discourage people from voting...
Again back in reality, photo id's don't discourage people from having a DRIVERS LICENSE...

Why are they so affraid?

Did anyone else see this? Bill O'Reilly and Fox News labeled Mark Foley a Democrat? They did not air it once, not twice, but THREE times! Fox News isn't biased and our President should win the Nobel Peace Prize. Riiiight....

When we retire. We will not get back anything in SS or any other supposed "fund" though we already have and will continue to pay thousands to keep rich old people living well right now.

reality? Polls reflect what citizens think and their are tons of polls out there. Polls also fluctuate frequently. Or would you prefer a president who does not guide and follow polls but instead follows what he/she beleives in?

the backbone of this nation is sadly not a real backbone. this is why the illegal mexican aliens and muslims are slowly working their way in. no party in this nation has any backbone, and those who do are called "extremists", or "racists", or "bigots", etc, by the "politically correct" people who have no backbones. seems like if a white/christian/american tries to stand up for himself, then the rest try to accuse him till he sits down. as far as im concerned, no one deserves reparations for Americas past. especially since the mexicans arent the first to own the land. the Spanish had it after the natives. anyone who calls himself mexican therefore instead of "native" did not own that land first. who is the real slave in America?

What a bunch of dirty welfare queens. The rest of the working poor should be so lucky to see dime one from any government program.

Funny isn't it. What would have happened if the US had not stepped in during WW2? Russia was getting their *** kicked and Europe basically belonged to Germany. What about WW1. Maybe we should've been like "Hey that's over their in Europe not over here in America." Or lets go current. Instead of trying to police terrorism we should jus leave it alone.
For those who don't support America as a nation police I wonder is you even support your own police. You see just as every town needs a police department to keep order in town, the same is said for the world. If the U.N will do its job for once and stop backing out, then America would not have to intervene in the affairs of other countries. What about the tsunami that hit a few years ago? Maybe we should have not been a police then and help those countries that were affected. What is the job of police officers? To protect and to help innocent civilians from those who seek harm.
