Clearly you are delusional.

Whether you are rich or poor, when you go through a catastrophe and lose everything, for the government to come in is a blessing. Yes, there will always be people who abuse the system--but there are plenty of others who are in need.

If you want to blame anyone, you shouldn't blame individuals for using programs that the government has created. Instead, blame the government for creating those programs if you disagree with them.

Finally, not all individuals are offered flood insurance. In many cases, when you are on a water plain, or in that type of area, insurance companies prefer not to offer that coverage.

If you are indeed the working poor, and not some neo-conservative dimwit, as your language suggests, than perhaps you should recognize that finally a government is doing something somewhat humane as opposed to deporting working individuals due to their immigration status, and blowing up people for ideological differences.

Yeah, what's the enormous deal? Your question tells allot about the Republican you are. Un informed on the issues and un educated. None of this is the truth. All lies. Welfare was ended under Clinton. Only a real Idiot would think the poor can buy insurance, they don't even own cars. This may be news to you. The Federal tax payers spend $498 billion on defense
which "welfare queen" defense company do you own stock in?
In Iraq Paul Bremmer lost $8 billion. Did you get any of that welfare?

I recently heard of a plan to put hurricane insurance premium on a national basis so 'we can all share the cost'. What a crock! If you insist on building on a sand bar, then why the heck should I pay for it here on my mountain. If I insist on building on a slab foundation on a flood plain and it (!) floods, why should I pay for it? If you want to build a city below sea level then you should get your head examined and if, having built said city, you don't inspect and maintain your levees then don't ask me to pay for them more than once. No no no. Don't build where Mother Nature comes around every two or three years to flood you out or burn you down, or wash you away. No matter how pretty your view, don't ask me to pay for it
Insurance companies don't offer flood insurance at all, that is a government program whose costs are only partially covered by participant premiums.

No one said life was fair. I agree we give too much to people who already have and not enough to the people who have not. For exdample New Orleans are the rebuilt yet but I bet the NC coast is and Naples on the Gulf Coast of Florida, Naples has the most millionaries per something I forgot. But you are right.
