Funny isn't it. What would have happened if the US had not stepped in during WW2? Russia was getting their *** kicked and Europe basically belonged to Germany. What about WW1. Maybe we should've been like "Hey that's over their in Europe not over here in America." Or lets go current. Instead of trying to police terrorism we should jus leave it alone.
For those who don't support America as a nation police I wonder is you even support your own police. You see just as every town needs a police department to keep order in town, the same is said for the world. If the U.N will do its job for once and stop backing out, then America would not have to intervene in the affairs of other countries. What about the tsunami that hit a few years ago? Maybe we should have not been a police then and help those countries that were affected. What is the job of police officers? To protect and to help innocent civilians from those who seek harm.

It also amazes me that those so far to answer my question don't sound like true Americans. Criticism if we do this. Criticism if we do that. Criticism if we don't do anything. SO what are we suppose to do if everything America does gets Criticism?

Not in any of those cases did we tell other countries what to do, how to live, how to run their governments etc. I do support the police and what there jobs are. Except for Illinois, right now they are having a scandals on a few Police departments beating innocent people and use abuse on prisoners and arresting people for trumped up charges. Getting back to the question, if the UN isn't doing the world police job properly then maybe the countries/nations of the world need to address that with them and suggest some changes. As far as aid for the Tsunami, we did provide aid and we always have in the time of crisis. But I think being the worl police is a little different.

We enterred WW2 when we were attacked, we didn't interfere, we may have stopped Germany much earlier if we acted pre-emtively but it would have cost us many many more lives and our interference at that exact point in the war could have been the only window for victory over Germany. Thank about that, we may be speaking German right now if we had struck before Germany was up agianst the wall with Russia.
Tsunami relief has nothing to do with Team America's world police policy. The US goverment was only marginally involved compared to the red cross and the donations of private citizens through privitized relief efforts.
Its true that we need a police for the world but America has no right to decide right from wrong and now we're learning we have no authority to decide either. The World has a police force, the United Nations, they have the authority and resonsibility to keep the peace of the world. Would you claim that you support your own police if you wander the streets at night shooting criminals and percieved criminals on sight? Think they'd be right to take you to jail if you did?

At first I thought this was sarcasm and laughed, then kept reading and thought oh **** this is a serious question, people actually think that. Amazing.
You do realize of course that we didnt step into WW2 until we were personally attacked. Yep coulda stopped the Holocaust.Wow amazing that a nation that is according to you supposed to be the world police couldnt stop that. I guess prescott bush was too busy selling steel to hitler though, I guess american banks were too busy making money off the war.
No we dont need to be the world police.

I facet along with your individuals's want to get rid of that Ahmadinjad dictator and change him with Mousavi. I do not believe that is fairly going to occur as studies from Iran coming in say that they're going to maintain a recount however the "winner" of the election will nonetheless be the president. The individuals of the arena stand in team spirit with the Iranian individuals and their wrestle. The US cannot do whatever on the grounds that our help might deliver the Iranian government a pretext to make use of extra violence towards dissenters. The different international leaders ought to do whatever with out influencing Iran's inside affairs an excessive amount of. There is an outcry to give up the violence on all fronts. There must even be one over a recount of the votes

Btw buster, Russia was on the offensive after the battle of Stalingrad and before D-Day (an operation where the British had considerably more success than the Americans), The Red Army was pushing on to Germany, and anhilating, the Nazi corps one by one. So perhaps it was USSR who saved USA and not the other way round. USA is not the beacon of civilization and other countries can take care for themselves, and often US interference only aggrivates the situation. e.g. Middle East.

The USA only joined WW2 when Pearl Harbour was attacked. That was the only reason. They are late for every war.
