I don't think there is someone in the world who hates politicians more than I do.What do you think of them my friend? Aren't they liars and hypocrits? The only thing they search for is their own benifits, but they try to act out and make people believe in their own melodrama.Without politicians the world will be a safer and a better place to live in ,and even without borders, because borders is a product made by politicians:country,nationalism,democracy,....blabla.Joseph Conrad said"Politics is the last refuge of a scoundrel"Yes and yes,so friend ;discard them and chase them as rats ,pigs!!!

and how have the Republicans brought that pride into question?

Warmongering,
Freedom restrictions,
Torture and aspiring to the lowest common denominator
Attacking our children, sexually and religiously?
Anything else you can add will be appreciated.

If this country was founded on religious freedom and separation of church and state then why do we not allow gay marriage? But, let me clarify, I agree in respecting the fact that we were founded on Christian principles (ie: keep "God" in the pledge). However, why should we continue to allow religion to govern our laws?

I'm straight, but no gay person's marriage affects me. Why should I care? It doesn't make me feel like my marriage is worth less because two guys get married. It seems that it should be up to the person marrying the couple. If their church doesn't want to, then I have no problem with that - we have no right to force the church's to perform same-sex marriages either.

I just don't see why the government should be able to regulate such religious morality.

As an example: here in Texas, we used to have an anti-sodomy law. I found that absolutely ridiculous, but it has been abolished now. I find gay marriage to be along the same lines in that it shouldn't be banned

Former U.S. Army Lieutenant and candidate for Congress in Vermont, Dennis Morrisseau, today called for the arrest of President Bush and Vice President Cheney by the American military "if necessary" to prevent an unauthorized attack upon the nation of Iran. He said "American forces are apparently already active inside Iran, and Naval forces have received orders to deploy to that country," Morrisseau said. "The President has NO AUTHORITY to attack the nation of Iran whatsoever, in the absence of a full, formal Declaration of War on Iran by the sitting Congress."

Yes - Bush can now seize American citizens as enemy combatants. Anyone can be declared an enemy combatant by Bush, even a citizen of the US, and Bush doesn't have to explain or justify it to anyone. Hello secret prison, hello torture, bye phone call, bye right to an attorney, bye trial by a jury of your peers, bye to even knowing what you are charged with. This is outrageous! The conservatives have trampled the constitution and turned it into toilet paper! And it all happened during the Foley scandal!

we Americans let the foreigners, who pop up here from time to time, know that this isn't a serious forum. Most of them seem to be getting the idea that we hate each other and the world. They don't seem to get the notion that Americans entertain themselves in odd ways.
That fact is, the rest of the world doesn't seem to have a sense of humor. Y!A is like laser tag. They don't get it though.

Seriously now. When I first joined up on this site I was hoping for reasonably intelligent discussions with people of the opposite political ethos debating the various topics of the day. I realize that there is an election coming up, but its just gotten ridiculous. Now I'll admit, I been a perpetrator of this when I see some moron asking "Have you heard about the Democrat woman in the hot air balloon?" I'm going to give a glib response. And its not just the right, I have seen too many left wingers stoop to this level as well.

I think that debate is a great thing and that the best ideas come from having to challenge them and think them through. Can anyone recommend a site where civilized discourse is the norm?

With population growing rapidly and exponentially and people who cannot afford children having too many. Should we limit children allowed to couples to 2.15 (one for each parent and .15 to make up for those who can't have children)

Is it a god given right to have as many children as possible, who should we monitor this for the sake of the planet and future?

I am curious.

Now Republicans are saying they should get rid of the "Page" program. How about holding some law makers accountable for their actions instead of punishing people with a interest in government? All their supporters can do is try and put the focus on the Democrats. This is not something that happened as a result of Dems. This is from the front page of CNN today.

Report: Hastert's office warned about Foley two years ago

WASHINGTON (AP) -- A senior congressional aide said Wednesday that he alerted House Speaker Dennis Hastert's office two years ago about worrisome conduct by former Rep. Mark Foley with teenage pages.

Kirk Fordham told The Associated Press that when he was told about Foley's inappropriate behavior toward pages, he had "more than one conversation with senior staff at the highest level of the House of Representatives asking them to intervene."

This report is continued at the following address:

Here's what they're doing as of yesterday. Drudge,Rush, House speaker Hastert and other neocons are trying desperately to find any link that suggests that some democrats knew about Foley's sick behavior and just now leaked it to the press so that they lose elections this Nov.! Worst than that, FOX fake news is now repeating that many feel that democrats had something to do with it and this morning it gets worst! They put a picture of Foley up with the wrong info, labeling him as a democrat from Florida running for re-election!!! OMG, these freaks are shameless liars! Believe me, they will keep repeating these lies and get the southern voters to vote for them again! That's how they get voted in, by repeating false information and ignorant contituents buy it all. Shameful neocons!
