and how have the Republicans brought that pride into question?

Warmongering,
Freedom restrictions,
Torture and aspiring to the lowest common denominator
Attacking our children, sexually and religiously?
Anything else you can add will be appreciated.

I'm still proud of what we have been and still can be, but I'm ashamed and disgusted by what the republicans and their cohorts have done to this great country.

Yes I am. That doesn't mean I agree with the current administrations war policies, I don't. What other country has as much freedom as we do? Torture and aspiring to the lowest common denominator, is a very nebulous comment. In other words, what are you talking about? There are evil people everywhere, but Americans don't attack children, perverts do.

Yes, I am proud of being American.

We are first to offer help when other countries are in need.

We are first to fight for freedom. Maybe we are not perfect, but we try to do what is right.

We do not torture, we fought against those even in our own government would would do that, and won. We procecute those who perform torture even if they are Americans.

We aspire to the highest common denominator, not the lowest.

We arrest and penalize anyone who attacks and sexually or religously abuse children.

We are the most generous country in the world.

When other countries ask for help in time of need, we are there without question. No country gave more to Indonesia for Tsunami relief.

Even our enemies will get help in times of disaster and after times of war.

Yes, I am proud to be an American.

God Bless America

People on both sides of the issues have made me less proud of being American, it just so happens that the conservatives are in power. The extremism on both ends of the spectrum are ruining our country.

Very Proud!
Some things need to be done, and I understand!

Man, if you aren't proud, then leave! Why stay here? There are plenty of other countries out there.

When my wife was in Europe this summer she was ashamed to be American.

After years of travel in Europe it was the first time people were openly harsh to her.
