Now Republicans are saying they should get rid of the "Page" program. How about holding some law makers accountable for their actions instead of punishing people with a interest in government? All their supporters can do is try and put the focus on the Democrats. This is not something that happened as a result of Dems. This is from the front page of CNN today.
Report: Hastert's office warned about Foley two years ago
WASHINGTON (AP) -- A senior congressional aide said Wednesday that he alerted House Speaker Dennis Hastert's office two years ago about worrisome conduct by former Rep. Mark Foley with teenage pages.
Kirk Fordham told The Associated Press that when he was told about Foley's inappropriate behavior toward pages, he had "more than one conversation with senior staff at the highest level of the House of Representatives asking them to intervene."
This report is continued at the following address:

Jbtascam: Finger pointing to keep the focus off your party is not the answer here. How can you defend him and the fact that the Repub. leaders knew about it?
No matter how hard you try, this question was NEVER about the Democrats. I wouldn't vote Democrat either, but anyone currently defending this party or downplaying Foley's actions should be ashamed of themselves unless they are as sick as Foley.

Bow-wow: It just goes to show you how liberal some Republican party affiliates are, even though they call themselves conservatives. Doesn't it just scream hypocracy?

They're already blaming Democrats. Since Foley started his career as a Democrat, they are blaming his lack of morals on his prior association. It's the same as they keep blaming Clinton for today's international problems.
For as long as I can remember, and that goes back to Ike, Republicans have always blame someone else. Reagan was the only one who ever took responsibility for his actions. Of course, he started out as a Democrat as well.

This is not the first time a Senator or Representative got into trouble with a page. It has happened many times before. If legislators cannot behave around minors, the solution is to take away the temptation.

American politics is not about honor, character, or sex. It is about money and power. Occasionally some blip like this comes up on the radar, but in the long run political differences will outweigh any common decency.

Studds slept with a 17 year old page and was re-elected by Democrats 6 times.
Foley never touched anyone (according to all published reports), and resigned!
Tell me, which would you consider more responsible?
