Do you know how easy it is to start up the draft? The Selective Service web site says: "A crisis occurs which requires more troops than the volunteer military can supply. Congress passes and the President signs legislation which starts a draft."

You left out the new American Civil War.

Bush already drafted them into his battle to convert our nation into a dictatorship. They know they will win, so they don't care who's sacrificed.

There has not been a draft since Vietnam. However, freedom has never been free throughout history. I am too old to be drafted in th US even in WWI & WWII they stopped it at 45 yrs old, but if as in WWII in the UK it went to 60 yrs old count me in.
I love my country & will fight whoever the leaders feel is a threat to my safety & freedom. My only son joined during Iraq war to defend US ( he is now Officer & Army Ranger) & I will bet my daughters have the same loyalty to US. God bless the USA!

i'd not, so i could not allow you to understand. I disagree with the a number of different posters. yet another intense floor troop dedication might want to require, on the least, a call for volunteers from our suitable militia and civilian administration, the activation of many Reserve and take care of instruments, and we would want to probable nevertheless favor one extra 50,000 to one hundred,000 troops. till adequate volunteers stepped up, or we withdrew maximum troops Iraq and Afghanistan immediately, a small involuntary draft might want to develop into needed. even with the indisputable fact that, i also needs to operate that i detect conflict with ANY of the above international locations particularly unlikely, except likely for in simple terms air strikes (no boots on the floor.) If we are only speaking air strikes, even with the indisputable fact that, no draft might want to be needed. So I call a militia draft, unlikely, yet no longer no longer accessible.

There has been a draft bill introduced each dession for the last 10 years, each one fails so miserably it's sad. Republicans have children they would nto start a draft unles they were sure thier kids would never have to go. Instead they just tack on 2 years extra duty to the poor folks who already made the mistake of signing up for George Bushes little war.

I volunteer for WW II....we haven't won a war since the end of that one in 1945 ! 61 years ago ! Here is a better question: Which of you Conservative Bush Backers will send your SONS and Daughters to Iraq when that draft starts? How will you feel when YOUR son comes home in a body bag? Will you be able to identify just why your son died?

No one has advocated this. I would have gone and fought after 9-11 had it not been for injuries from a car accident. I fight the war at home against liberals, socialism, and communism.
