Where is the accountability?

It's true. See:

http://www.agonist.org/story/2004/10/28/21743/196

he's talking about the 377 tons of explosive weapons that came up missing from the Al Qaqaa weapons dump a few years back.

It turns out, the reason the weapons came up missing is that the administration didn't send enough troops to guard it.

This is how conservatives REALLY feel about the troops.

Nation's Report Card published annually by the U.S. Department of Education's National Center for Education Statistics:

Nationally, in reading, only 13 percent of black fourth-graders and 11 percent of black eighth-graders score as proficient. Twenty-nine percent of black fourth-graders achieve a score of "basic," which is defined as having a partial knowledge and skills necessary to be proficient in the grade. Fifty-nine percent score below basic, not having any of the necessary knowledge and skills. It's the same story for black eighth-graders, with 40 percent scoring basic and 49 percent below basic.

In math, it's roughly the same story. For black fourth-graders, 12 percent score proficient, 47 percent score basic and 40 percent below basic. Are you just trying to make sure that you have a docile, ignorant permanent voting block that you can lie to every election year and then just give us more of the same: permanent poverty and gov't handouts?

Bush is only in office until 2008. So you will run out of that excuse. What are you going to do to help two of the largest majorities come out of poverty and ignorance? We have been waiting for nearly 50 years now. How much longer?

and college entrance requirements in the name of affirmative action?

I'm hispanic, and I was appalled to read that California courts have put a stay on the law that requires high school students to pass an exit exam before graduating.

The fact of the matter is that most schools are not teaching the kids, they just plain aren't. So until something better comes along, an exit exam is the only way to measure that kids are being educated throughout the state. And what is worse, these tests are based on 10th grade material, and still many can't pass it.

bush has circumvented the purpose of the clean air act by allowing 20% of a coal plant to be spent on maintianance. This allows plants to rebuild and get around the clean air statutes passed by nixon.
Doctors and specialists have determined that asthma is caused in children who inhale these fumes and have complications for life.THEY estimate that coal fired plants will result in the near future in over 100,000 deaths long before the age at which these children would of lived had they not been exsposed to this hazard.
WE knew in the 70's of the relation between coal plants polution and lung disease and passed laws to fix the problem .
WHY has bush allowed laws that permit an obvious circumvention of the law .buy allowing 20% anually to be spent on maintainance in effect allowing the plant to rebuild with out meeting the clean air standards.source is former head of the epa who resigned under bush when she realized his plan to help out his million dollar fund raisers the coal plants .
