You know how much desiel these 18 wheelers use. But hell no you wouldnt ever pick on them.....How would you get your StarBucks coffee shipped to the stores or you couldnt do with out your Ipods not being trucked to the stores....GOD FOR BIT. Oh by the way how much oil is used when your RICH MOVIE/ROCK STARS fly in planes

My bif about SUV are the drivers because they don't know how to drive a big car. Or they only drive them selvs around. Or they can't park and they take up two parking spaces. Plus I can't see around them when I'm driving.

Well, trucking gets more than Starbucks and Ipods around. It also gets groceries, medicine, etc into stores (God forbid we eat or be healthy!). It's a disgrace that rich movie/rock stars fly private jets all over, but most do just fly 1st class in planes that are already going wherever they are going. As for SUVs, do you REALLY need it? Are you hauling crap around all the time? If yes, that's what you need and you are the one paying $60+ everytime you feul up, but seeing as it's a neccesity, I don't have a proiblem with it. However, are you alone in your SUV most of the time? Maybe your 1 kid gets in for an hour a day, the most you haul is your grocery shopping. Get a car! Why are you wasting so much gas!

YOUR Rich movie/rock stars? Are you implying that the non SUV drivers own the rich people and are responsible for their actions? Comparing SUVs to semi trucks is like comparing a Hummer used in a city to an army tank used in war. A semi truck efficiently serves its purpose. An SUV, on the other hand, does not. A moderately sized car with a decent gas mileage would serve the same purpose as an SUV without the extravagance.

My 18-wheeler gets 6.5MPG of diesel. But carries more than 45,000lbs of freight. Maybe your SUV on a good day going downhill with the wind at your back gets 22MPG of gasoline. But it can only carry 3,000 lbs of payload weight. So you would need 15 SUVs to carry that cargo. And since a truck only is about the length of 4 or 5 cars it takes up less road space.

SUV drivers act like they own the road. Cutting you off at the last possible second because the feel invincible. You cannot see around them The windows are tinted so dark you can 't tell if traffic is stopped in front of them. Can't you guys find another was to Inflate your ego?

You would have nothing if it wasn't for truckers bringing it to you, that SUV you are so proud of would not even be built if the parts didn't get to the plant, just in time. You can pick on the trucks if you want but if they do not bring the grocerys you will not eat.

I totally understand where you are coming from, those that pass judgment need to first look at their own consumption.

I think the real point is that we can not blame the government for our own faults. We as a society need to accept responsibility for our own actions.

SUV drivers as a group are as diverse as any group in America...soccer moms, red necks, pimped out caddie wantna bes...some are great drivers some are not...to group them...us...all together is idiotic.
