PS I'm not a liberal.

I'm not in support of Ahmadinejad, but it seems like this Ahmadinejad, this supposed terrorist, seems to be the reasonable in this situation. He wants to honor the victims killed in the 9/11 black op, and speaking to the US citizens, and obviously doesn't want war with the US. And we have BushFraud, the decideer, who lied about the war in WMD in Iraq, is alligned with war profiteering, no plan to win in Iraq, doesn't support the troops (long tours of duty) and now wants to attack a sovereign nation that poses no threat to the US. Who's the terrorist extremist here?

My friend came by the house today.

"Come on," he said. "I'm going down to the cemetary to kick this guy's butt."

"Oh," I said. "What's he doing at the cemetary?"

"Well, ya know all those people that died in the bus wreck? He gonna visit thier graves."

"Oh. Well, lots of folks have been to the graveyard to pay thier respects. That was a horrible crash."

"Yeah, but this guy is different. He lived next door to the busdriver."

"So? That doesn't mean that they were friends."

"Maybe not, but you know how bad that area of town is. Everyone that lives over there is a crimminal. Did you know that the busdriver was drunk when he wrecked?"

"Um..yes...I know..."

"Well, this guy drinks, too. HE. DRINKS. Can you believe it? How could any decent person ever have...alcohol? It's just...wrong."

"Umm...lots of people in our country drink. It's been that way for a long time."

"Yeah, and they should all be shot. It's just awful."

I constantly see questions and answers on here about how things like the patriot act is unconstitutional and how our forefathers would be ashamed... For what are suppose to be progressive parties, they sure do like to live in the past.

Our country may have been founded a mere 200+ years ago but so much has changed. Now we have bombs that can take out whole cities and destroy whole states' living conditions... people that will fly airplanes as big as a football field into public buildings killing thousands. Our Forefathers have been outdated by technology where just a small group of 100 or so can take out millions in our country with the help of a nuke or two.

I read the Franklin quote regurgitated every day about a person giving up freedom for security deserves neither... Do you think he could even fathom people flying planes into skyscrapers, let alone nuclear bombs? If we're not secure, how long will our freedom last?

Michael Scheuer, head of the CIA "Bin Laden Unit" said on the Bill Maher show that he didn't think either American life nor Dollars are worth spending on a policy that increases the risk to the American people. Since polls show that 90% of the Middle East doesnt approve of Bin Laden's vision for their region but roughly 70% approve of his attacks on American policies in the region (Including but not limited to Israel), one can safely say that Mr. Scheuer's implication has at least some basis. Our policies towards Israel does not bring us friends there, I would add however, that it is regardless of Al Quaida.

Mr. Maher believed both American dollars and lives are worth paying for Israel, as he cited it was a democracy. He on other occassions readily admits that we allow the most brutal of dictatorships to flourish with our approval if convenient for us, so I take democracy to be a weak argument.

It appears to me to bring more bad than good, so Y is it worth it?

The democrats are trying to institute socialism in this country. They want to tax the people with higher incomes more, they want a universal health care, and they want everyone to be middle class. That is just appaling. Everyone has an equal chance to go to college and graduate schools to make something of themselves. Or just start their own business. The people that are on the bottom in our society are just plain lazy. It doesnt matter what your background is, you can become someone. The democrats believe in taxing the people who had to work hard to have an income of $250,000 or more a year, because some folks are lazy and rely on food stamps. I am now an independent and I hope you will become one too.

some governments go to war to prevent alleged threats on their countries.. this way they kill and destroy others who are innocent to save their people. then there's no evidence to prove the potential threat.
is this moral?? are voters who voted for these governments who to blame for the distruction of other nations caused by such governments??

Keep in mind that neither a Democrat or a Republican will talk about the 500lb gorilla in the room: the tanking dollar.

should we take the billions that will be spent on that and put it towards converting homes to solar instead?. It would take 1
billion dollars to convert 40,000 homes to solar, so for the 3 billion it takes to build a nuke reactor you could convert 120,000 homes or twice that if you offered to pay for half and the homeowner paid the other half with low cost loans, and there'd be no waste disposal problems afterwards and no chance of "accident". Would this be a more logical way to go?.
