If you felt called to give to someone in need...your action in giving that help is a blessing to the one you gave to, and blesses you. What a person does with your gift is up to them. If they are scamming, it does not diminish your act of kindness.

God can see who is sincerely in need, and con artists will not get away with the crime indefinitely.

There could be many reasons she was wearing a nice outfit.

Perhaps she felt that wearing a nice suit, etc it would lend her some credibility...that she wouldn't be doing it if she truly didn't need to. The truth is we cannot know unless we ask, if there is time to do so.

The truth is, anyone can lie, and we ourselves cannot always know if someone is legitimately in need. We give because it is what we believe is right to do. God knows our motivation, just as He knows theirs.

Take Care and God Bless you!

You are not a mind reader. There are honest people needing money. There are dishonest people who are too lazy to work. Unless you can read minds you are taking a chance. It's your money and your risk.

I prefer to give to organizations that help people. I give to church and the local Ministerial Alliance. People get help from these groups in the form of food, clothes and paid bills. They don't usually get money. As an example, a person would bring an electric bill or gas bill to the Ministerial Alliance which would pay the bill. The person gets help and there is no fraud.

DO NOT GIVE MONEY TO RANDOM PEOPLE THAT ARE BEGGING.
it could be anyone , personal experience, that can do anything whit that money !
Where I come from gypsy people make a lot of children then the leave them on the streets as orphans and make them beg and come home whit money , if not they beat them.
Don't give money to people that beg , give them food or other useful things , but NOT MONEY , and watch how they react (watch them when they don't know there being watched). You will be surprised.

Believe it or not, begging has become some people's living, its like instead of getting a job, they make asking for money from 9-5 their job. I've seen it and hear about it more and more these days.

You were encouraging the wrong thing and you should not have given. They get many free things from our government dont let them fool you. Why do you think she was well dressed? Did you know that our government provides them with FREE legal assistance regardless of immigration status? Look up migrant worker programs. You'll find they get free housing, food, medical, education, child care, travel money, free vehicle repair vouchers, and get to keep thier paycheck. Next time please call you local police department and inform them instead.

I give to the less fortunate when I can. I try not to let a few bad apples taint my compassion for humanity.

BTW....it doesn't matter what nationality they were. And did you assume they were Mexican or did they say they were from Mexico?

Couldn't you have just written a well dress person. Why did you need to mention the person was Mexican? Did their race make a difference on how they were dress or because they were the one asking for money?

I think you are encouraging this bad behavior. But this seems to be the way things are going. Why work when you can stand on the corner and ask for change or just go up to people in a mall and ask for extra change. They have no pride or scruples.
