The above link shows the results of a poll conducted over a 4 year time span. It shows the answers to the same questions asked in 2004, 2005, and 2007. It covers everything from shopping to electricity to security.

I'm not making a judgement, I'm just asking you to look it over and tell me what you think.

wow... if those numbers are accurate, then I feel really awful about this war...

If those numbers are NOT accurate then I feel really awful for the state of journalism today...

I feel awful either way.... show me some happy statistics please.

Well, if the statistics are true and accurate - the people were probably just as delusional and optimistic about the war as Bush was in the beginning...
Or they were just telling American journalists that they liked everything in hopes that we would stop trying to "liberate" them....

I knew before we went into Iraq that they were lying about WMD and that Bush just had a vendetta to settle with Sadam about how he threatened Bush's dad. I'm still not for the war and nothing will ever change that, especially a poll of Americans.

They must have done that poll before the mortgage problem. Right now, whether people realize it or not, the global economic situation is far worse than anything else. We are on the edge of a global recession like we have never seen before because of the business practices all over the world that make companies look more prosperous than they really are. Global warming is bad enough, but now global economic collapse will over shadow that and Iraq sooner than you think.

I don't think it takes a genius to realize that if these same questions were asked of any citizenry involved in war it would produce the same results.

And you were expecting what?

We have finally confronted a group that has been killing people world-wide for 20+ years and people know that this is going to be a long, hard struggle. Americans today are not used to long hard struggles and that is what our enemy is counting on.

i decline to look at your poll.

i have no interest in iraq - i didn't when the president lied about wmd's and i don't now.

you could say anything in the world about iraq and it still won't make the war there right.

iraq had nothing to do with 9/11, and has nothing to do with american security (petreus said so himself).

worst of all, we will get NO PAYBACK FOR 9/11 THERE.

quite simply, nothing you could say about anything will make me think that the war was just or necessary.

No -- doesn't change my opinions.

Even if the statistics had disagreed with my opinions -- I formed them based on my own research.

It's nice to know that others come to the same conclusion, but that's never been of primary importance to me.

Well the one i find interesting is that they have more confidence in the Iraqi police than the US and UK occupational force. So why not leave them and see how long it takes for the Iraqi police to scream for help?

No, but it gives me, perhaps, more basis for my views. Thanks for posting the link.
